Hey, this is the Hunters trying to figure this new thing out. Michael is still in California, Cami and Kayla went on Spring Symphonic Band Tour Friday and Saturday, Paisley his losing her best friend across the street who is moving, Alyssa got a new weather station from the book orders, Andrew is really into Trains and I continue on in cooking, cleaning, and trying to keep all efforts going in a positive direction. Sorry we missed Tyler's baptism and Drew's blessing, but we were thinking of you. Amy and family came over for Sunday dinner and we had a nice visit. We're glad to stay connected to family at least in some way. Hope your all well. Hunters

Weekend update

Tyler's Birthday and Baptism--And Spring Break in Dixie!
Hello to all our family! What a great week for the Cleggs. Last week we spent 4 days in St. G
George for Spring break--I told you about it but have attached a few pictures for you to see this week. We loved Zions and also the sand dunes in Snow Canyon. Check out the jumping maniacs in mid air!
On Tuesday night we had a birthday party for Tyler at the new Bountiful Recreation Center. We took 13 rambunctious boys to swim and use the climbing wall. They had a great time but it took Steven, myself and two other mothers to keep count and make sure that no one drowned.
Jamie had her first LaCrosse game this week and she is an animal. We don't know the rules and so Steven and I could be heard screaming from the sidelines, "score a goal unit Jamie!" Whatever that is. I think she was very embarrassed.
Thursday night Tyler had his first Pinewood Derby as a cub scout. It is our favorite activity. NOT! Steven and Tyler spent Wednesday night hurrying to create a blue lightning car. Then, on Thursday morning they put on the final coat of paint and perfected the balance of wheels. Thursday night, Steven had to go and support Jamie in her second LaCrosse game so I went to the Pinewood Derby. Each car was supposed to go down the track 4 times and they would average the times. Well---the first time it went down the track it wobbled and wound slowly to a halt at the end of the track . . . . far behind the competing car. Oh dear. Tyler tried to be brave and said he didn't car but I could tell he was embarrassed. So was I and Steven was not there to save the day. After a quick call to Steven on his cell with no ideas for how to fix the car, I went to Brother Hodges and asked him to "please help me examine the car and see if we could fix it before the next round." He saved the day. He pulled out some graphite, "greased" the wheels and aligned each axle. I went back to my chair and visiting with the other mothers. The competitive rounds continued. I didn't expect him to come close to winning since his first round was complete dud. Imagine my surprise (and Tyler's delight) when they announced that out of 27 cars his had taken 3rd place. Amazing! Just imagine what that blue lightning derby would have done if we'd 'graphited' in the beginning.
Saturday was our big day! Tyler was baptized by Spencer and confirmed by his father. Nikki, Briana, Ryan, Logan, Grandma and Grandpa were all here to share our special day. Everyone contributed to the program and Jordan even made it through a prayer despite a near tackle from Ryan mid sentence. It was a privilege to see Spencer and Steven use their priesthood so honorably and to have my entire family participate in singing, playing the flute, saying prayers and giving talks. All the love and support of the Francis' and Cleggs was greatly appreciated. We missed having Brandon and Ashley with us but we know that they would have been here if it was possible.
I am just getting over one of the worst colds of my life and I know that many of you have been ill this year too. Hopefully, Grandpa Clegg is feeling better after his tumble down the stairs and each of you are getting over the winter blahs. We love you all so much and wish that we could see you more often. Peter's Week..
Here's a shot I took of the Golden Gate bridge last week on a flight to San Francisco.
I told someone at work this week that I haven't worked this hard, this many hours and at this low of wage since I was bucking hay all summer as a kid in Idaho! Work defines the week. I'm getting to the point where I understand enough of what's going on in the company that I constantly have people wanting my time. "Walk with me..." is a phrase I'm using more often as I have mini meetings on the way to other meetings. I love my Blackberry with the Jawbone as I can have it in one ear on mute listening to a meeting while I'm in another!

Anna and Steve came to visit this week and stayed a night as Anna had to coach a track meet so they stayed over. Great to see them again and hear about the honeymoon. While they were here, Eric Germann and his friends came over to open his mission call. We had his dad Skyped in from Houston and his Mom and family from Austin. A big world map in the background with his friends who are going to Russia, Mongolia, Brazil and other exotic destinations... His call is to San Bernardino, California. He had said he really hoped he would go foreign but he said the minute he saw, he knew that's where he was to go--such a great kid.
This is a shot I took of Mt. Ranier a couple of wees ago on a flight to Seattle.
Traveled up to Fruit Heights for the naming of little Andrew Frank. I was 4 minutes late and they had already blessed him! Still enjoyed all the company and a wonderful turkey dinner at Jill and Dan's.

Soda Cleggs March 30, 2008
Howdy,
Just trying out the new blog thingamajig. What does blog stand for anyway? It sound like a section of road where you get out and lock the hubs in. Our week in review is as follows:
Don spent the week in Idaho Falls attending ASME Boiler/pressure vessel code class. Highlight was studying the section on steam locamotives. They still have it in the books. Attended the temple a couple of times and enjoyed the more user friendly endowment sessions.
Greshen and kids did the usual routine of school, chores, etc. Greshen helped with mock trials for the local Jr. Miss. She said she was more nervous than the girls she interviewed.
Friday I met Greshen and kids in Pocatello where she and the girls and Mom and Dad Gilbert traveled to Boise to her aunts wedding. Grant and I went to the Spring Fair at Holt areana and spent several hours looking at KTM motorcycles and campers.
Saturday I had to help 'man' the district Merit badge clinic. Grant and I went to visit Mom and Dad Clegg and had a good talk with them. Later that evening the Webbs called and had to rub in the fact that they were looking at the Snake River and it was warm and gorgous. I wished I could have been there so I book reservation at the Webb for the 17th of April for the Presidential suete a booked the large Case tractor for some rest and relaxation. Greshen was in the Raft River area around 8:00 that night and was in a mad dash to get home. They wanted to stop for some soup and homemade bread, but decided to drive through. (She had to get a lesson for young womens the next morning.)
Today was church as usual with a good spiritual fast meeting. We still have a foot of snow in the yard and Grace still has snow at the house. (Where is global warming? More like global cooling.)

Steven Cleggs - more St. George
Last night, we went up to the St George airport to watch the moon come up. After sitting there for over an hour and no moon, the little boys wanted me to take them back down to the hotel. Using technology, I quickly looked up on the Internet when the moon would rise. It said 21:19. But we’d just come down from the ridge and it was 10pm. Then I read the fine print “add one hour for daylight savings time.” By the time I rushed back up the moon was in the air so I tried to shoot some pictures. Weak sauce. Oh well, next I’ll look it up sooner.
Steven Cleggs - March 24, 2008
Hi Everyone;
Sorry about the late entry. We just got back from weekend in St George. Last Thursday we left around 4:30pm and got down there about 10pm. Spencer left earlier with his friends in his car. We got a call from Spencer about a 2 hours after we left….he was just outside of Hurricane and had witnessed a car in front of him go end over end. The kid was ejected. Spencer and his buddies stopped and had to fill out police reports. They said the kid didn’t make it.
Friday Shannon had meetings so I worked out of the hotel room while the kids played in the pool. Friday afternoon we got another call from Spence. This time he was in the ER at a local clinic. One of the boys he came down with bounced too high on the tramp and sprung off into a cinder block wall. Broke his arm clean. That’s all we heard from Spencer until Saturday evening. He called and said they were really hungry and would you meet him/buddies at Denny’s to buy them dinner. It is a wonderful feeling to be loved and needed as parents.
Saturday we headed for Zions national park. I have a theory that everything I want to do there is kabillions of other people thinking the same thing. If I has some forethought I’d set up a lemonade stand or something so when all the people get their we could make some money.
Zions was jam packed with people. We still had a great time hiking to the base of Narrows. Then to the Emerald Pools. Once we got through hiking a strenuous 2 miles on pretty much level ground, we all looked at each other and collectively agreed we’d got our $25 entry fee worth of nature. Time to head back, sit in the Jacuzzi, swim in the pool, and pop some marshmallow peeps into our mouths….ahhhh.
Sunday we went to a ward near Green Valley. Again, masses of people. The stake center had chairs set up all the way back to the stage. Every chair was filled and it was standing room only. Sunday afternoon we went to a nearby park just to sit on the grass. Pretty soon a little Mexican boy came running from the playground with a bloody lip. On closer inspection, Shannon saw he had bit completely through the bottom lip and his tooth was sticking out. She picked him up and walked over to a group of Spanish people. The dad started yelling at the little boy in Spanish for hurting himself. Shannon asked if anyone spoke English and they all pointed to one lady.
Today, Shannon took the kids out to Snow Canyon sand dunes while I was on the phone. Then we came home. Jamie drove most of the way down and all the way back. She’s getting very good.

Soda Cleggs - March 25, 2008
This last week was a short one for us. It went by too fast.
Don went back on a stronger dose of anibiotics and is now finally feeling like he will get better. He is off to Idaho Falls this next week for training. It is actually a continue ed class put on by INL at the ISU campus in Idaho Falls.
We had a great St. Patricks Day dinner on Monday with Greshen's parents. Corned Beef and cooked cabbage. Only the adults really liked it. Greshen's mom shared some Irish traditions that made St. Patricks day special to their family.
The kids were out Thursday- Monday for spring break. Most of it was spent at home just taking some time out. On Friday we headed to Pocatello. We weren't sure what we were going to do, but Macie woke up with red spots all over here body. We were able to get her in to the doctor in Poky. The doctor said it was her body reacting to the penicillin. Seens how it was almost to the end of the medicine, he said to stop giving it to her. It cleared up within 3 days and she is back to her cute happy self.
After the doctor we went to take the kids to Deleta for some rolle skating. They weren't open but told us to come back later and they would let us in with a school group. So we went to check out a new place and found a wide variety of activities to do. We chose to do 3D Black light minature golf. It was fun although after about 15 holes Don started to get sick. Everyone else enjoyed it. Then off to Sizzler for a great feast. We found out that only us adults truly enjoyed it. After the big meal it was over to the skating rink. Greshen stayed with Macie in the car who had decided it was time for a nap. Don and the kids went and spent 2 hours skating. Don roller skated while the kids roller bladed. Grant and Emily both won a free pop in playing musical numbers. They skated and skated. After that we headed to Petco. Grant has been saving up money to build his own fish tank. He spent it all and now has his own fish tank. He has been doing a paper route for a friend off and on. He is very excited when Matthew calls. He is saving up for a lid and some decorations for the tank. He is very proud to show it off.
We enjoyed having Peter and Mom stop in for a visit on Saturday. We talked and then ate leftovers and fresh bread that turned out good. It was nummy and we ate 2 loaves!!!!
Sunday we went to church and sitting in sacrament when Don realized he was supposed to be in another ward for their Ward Conference. We had Easter dinner and spent the rest of the day relaxing, sleeping and enjoying each other.

Weekend Update New Format
Don't you just love variety!!!! We're trying out a new format for Family News... It's called "post it yourself!" The Francis family is using this format and it looked very nice. The best part is that anyone in the family can add to it and freely upload pictures, text, links to other sites, etc. I'm sure it will have ups and downs but let's try it for a while and see if we can increase our columns of print.
