It is hard to believe it will be July this week.  The rain has made the spring seem longer but it sure is pretty.  We have made a few hikes up the mountains but have not made it camping yet.  The Trek is this week which has pretty much consumed Janet for the last couple of weeks!  Right now we have 27 baby dolls all over our front room, buckets, clothes and lists laying everywhere.  Hopefully everything will go off as scheduled.  It should be a neat experience.  

 

Megan took here first $200 dollar paycheck and went skydiving with some boy she met at EFY last year.  She said it was awesome.   She asked the instructor if they could do some flips or something.   He said on the first jump they couldn’t, be they did a back flip out of the plane.   They just put her in a suit, attached the harness, showed her how to hold her hands and then up she went.   They attach her to the instructor and then out they go.  Supposedly they jump at 13,000 feet and free fall for 60 seconds.  They actually deploy a small 3 ft diameter chute right out of the plane that slows them down some as they free fall.  When they finally open the chute they come right down on the field and land pretty soft.   Janet went down and filmed her.  I figured I had better stay away from the temptation.    

 

Also it was Dawsen’s Birthday yesterday.  Janet made him a Dragon cake.  When we lit the candles things got out of hand.

 

It was great seeing everyone at Jessica’s wedding and Spencer’s talk.  Worth the driving to see such great examples of faith and courage.

Jordan got his Star Scout last night, then Spencer was set apart by Stake President.  This morning, we got up, went to iHop (official restaurant of departing missionaries) and then dropped Spencer off at MTC.  It was pretty fun instead of the tear jerker meeting. 

Peter's Weeks

It's been a while... for many of us! But it has certainly been eventful!!!! Those times in life where things are going so fast and fun that you don't have time to document.  It started with the wedding preparations.  It was a treat to have Zanny here for a week and a few days helping to repaint the front entry, hall and living room.  It looks so nice and has been such a long time coming.  Then getting the back yard ready with Stuart and Boston helping put in rocks and clean up.  The the big day of the reception with all types of people and activities.  Then the wonderful evening of the preception, followed by the wedding and luncheon.  The honeymooners are back now and doing very well.  We had dinner last night and Jessica fixed us all a good Thai soup...wonder if you can by Thai soy in Germany? While here, Grandpa and Grandma were hosts of the Littlefields and Shane arranged for Grandpa to go for an airplane ride with one of his friends.  It was funny because me and the Webb boys were eating empanada's outside in Orem and we looked up to see this Cessna.  "What's that crazy guy doing flying with that black storm coming in?" I asked...not knowing it was Grandpa! They landed safely and had a beautiful flight which we can all see thanks to these photos by Kelly!

Work continues and grateful to have a job.  We've been interviewing people for a couple of new positions.  Some pretty good talent that are out of jobs right now.  I wish we could hire some fo them and replace some of our existing VPs!  We're supposed to announce a new CEO in a week or so and a lot is riding on her ability to get things done.  We'll see.  I think we've still got some opportunities but the window is closing fast.

Sorry for the cancellation of the party in Grace but look forward to one later in the summer when it's warmer and we can really enjoy the mountains. It sounds like several of you were able to get up there anyway and help celebrate Father's Day and Mother's Birthday.  Thanks for representing the rest of us.  I took Saturday and decided to try my first big hike in a while...just to see if I think I would survive in Rainier in a couple of weeks.  I was going to try Cascade but there's not path to the top and it was covered in clouds so went for Baldy which is in front of Timp.  I got rained on several times but had the right gear so was fine.  It reminded me of COSTA RICA!!! With all the rain, the foilage is really abundant! Paths are covered with bushes and leaves.  Everything was vibrant green.  On the way back, I counted 21 different kinds of wild flowers that were in bloom.  Orange and red paintbrush, bluebells, fireweed, lilies, yellow and purple snapdragons...absolutely beautiful.  I didn't have my camera (good thing or it would have been soaked) so I'll just have to keep it in my mind.  Round trip was about 18-19 miles and about 3800 feet net elevation gain.  It's no 12,000 feet like Rainier but then I survived it pretty good so no reason to back out yet!

Hi everyone;

We just rolled in from visiting mom and dad at the ranch.  We went up Saturday morning.  Shannon and kids cleaned the second house while Dan, Kent and I did some macho fence building out at the north end of Grays Lake.  Everything is so green and beautiful, it looks like east coast landscape.   Last night, the Web boys came over and we went to Lava hot springs.  After we all got ice cream.  Greshen, don't forget to post the picture.  What a blast to hang with family!! Today, we got up and went to church at williams ward.  Kent made us yummy taters and gravy with pork roast. 

Dad's Birthday

Just a few pieces of last minute information.  It looks like we may have some light rain, so bring jackets.  The night time temperature is in the low 50's.  Also we have the church reserved if it gets to wet.

What a weekend!  Friday, the boys and I went to down to meet Spencer for lunch, then spent the afternoon running errands with Spencer before mom and the girls joined us for dinner and Grandma Francis'.  Clayton/Jessica's reception was very nice!  Next morning got up and went Jordan's triathlon in Pleasant Grove.  They started out at the high school and by the time I walked over to the community center, Jordan was finishing the 1 mile run portion--and he was in 1st place.  Then they rode 3 miles on bikes.  He came in about 2 bike lengths behind 1st biker.  During the swim, he got a little tired, but finished 4th overall and 3rd in his age bracket.  The two kids that beat him were on a junior high swim team!  Shannon did her triathlon shortly after.  Very fun to watch. She had to stop and help a woman with an asthma attack!  Jessica's reception beautiful.  Then home to get ready for Spencer's farewall.

Another Fun week in Provo

What a busy summer week.  The kids are out of school, so it's a large party at home. Kayla is working the Training Table, Cami is working the Job board, and not working, dad is working from home.  I love the commute.  Breakfast table to office in 12 seconds flat.  Paisley is working the system. She went to up with some friends.  Virginia is working the universe.  Managing a full house (food, laundry, entertainment ...) Andrew is working the table (He's a super picky eater). Alyssa is working the craft table free handing horses, and list of stuff.  So it looks like were off to another week of work.  PS.  for those of you who shoot videos and never watch them, here are some clips from last years collection.
