Here is some pictures of our sunday afternoon drive to dworshak resevoir.  It was a beautiful day and we even found my town.  I think i found my identity and my future is set.  There is Kendrick family dentistry, Kendricks Hardware, Kendrick Garage, and even my own church named after me(3 Nephi 27:8).  Well hope you all have agood week and i love you all.

Peter's Week

Friday afternoon...I was so exhausted from work that I couldn't bear to go to the Sand Dunes with the Scouts. But by the time I was cruising down the freeway with the new Scout trailer in tow, it was all very nice. We had a great time and I slept VERY well. Made some good progress on advancements and played capture the flag and night games in the sand.

Home to FOUR wedding receptions in one night (heard there were 80 at Salt Lake Temple on one day). Two of my boys, a son of people in my ward and one of my college roommate's kids. Steve Lau's was great as all of the kids in my first group were there and it was so good to catch up.

Sunday was good with a brief visit from Frank and family as they stopped by on their way home from St. George. Cole's Jag arrived from Georgia and hence the photo. With his new python skin cowboy boots, his Ray Bans and his new (1968) Jaguar, he's livin large. It's a very nice looking car...only two years newer than our airplane!

Work continues to be wild. I was pretty much unwound after a good Sunday nap and a day of rest but today...I'm totally scrambling again!

Dearest family: mom says it is my turn to write so here goes. The other day it finally quit snowing and blowing so I decided to go for a ride on my atv I just started down the lane and here came Kai and Joe no coats or shoes on so I picked them up and we got some clothes on them and I took them for a ride down west of Merlins to the old junk pile and we got off and walked around the old cars etc..  All of a sudden they disappeard and I looked around for them and they had decided to take off for home; so I just let them go and watched them for quite a few minutes.  When they were about 1/4 mile away the one little boy was quite a ways ahead of the other and the one behind kept looking back like he was tired,so, I got on my atv and went and picked them up and brought them on home.  The reason why I am telling this ,is this the best way you can turn them loose and they cant get into trouble, they cant get lost, and it gives them a feeling of freedom that they can do what they want to.  I remember years ago we used to haul them up the canyon then tell them " ok, now run home" and the kids would take off and the older ones would leave the younger ones behind.  Mom and I are gradually feeling a little better and we went to church for the first ime in almost 3 weeks.  Today was Stake conference and we  had a hook up with church head quarters and 74 stakes in south eastern Idaho. pretty impressive.  We are kind of waiting to see how things shake out now but the plans are that we are not going to spend another winter in this house so we have all summer to prepare for another place to live but that is the big question, where to go and what to do and how much remoldeling on grandmas how that would make it comfortable for us to live in.  We cant be grateful enough for all the kindness that has been given to us by our family, far more than we have earned, and every day keep hoping that it wont end.   May the Lord Bless you all and thank you again for all your love and kindness and prayers inour behalf.  With Love Mom and Dad Clegg

Hunter's Review

Hello from the home of the Hunter's!!!!  We've had a great week.  It started out with calling the exterminator to come and deal with our little brown furry friends that have been multiplying and taking over.  Amy and the exterminator helped me determined several holes in the house  where they are coming in, and basically our house is a sieve. The exterminator gave me a list of area's to secure and then set three bait centers and sticky traps all over.  I hired a handy man to come and take care of all of the securing, plus put him to work on several other odds jobs I needed done.  I have been running for supplies and solving problems.  I discovered the dish washer had a leak and it was out of commission for three days.  I finally fixed it myself with duct tape.  We also spent time looking for prom dresses and I sewed up a shrug for Cami. I realized that I can still sew. It was fun to see the cousins (Hailey, Jami, and Melissa) if even for an hour. They were here to send Cami off on her date and visit with Kayla as she curled Cami's hair. I can't believe what beautiful girls we have in this Grant and Zan grandchildren clan!!!!  Have a great week.  Virginia

Cleggs: Prom, Plays and More . . .

• Dad has traveled to L.A., Boise and Montana in the past 3 weeks so he has been living in airports and hotels. We even had to drive down to the airport on Monday night, while he had a layover in Salt Lake, so we could have Family Home Evening together!




• Ashley graduated from BYU this past month. We are so proud of her and I'm sure she is relieved. Brandon is busy busting up his ankle playing 3-on-3 basketball (I'm sure it was just so he could get out of Saturday chores!) and enduring Ashley's viewing of Pride and Prejudice. • Davis High Prom was last week and Spencer looked so handsome. He and his group came back to our house afterwards (see the pictures below). He hangs with such a great group of kids. They all have Senioritis and are busy making plans to make money and then head off to college. With 4 A.P. classes, senior council and seminary council, Spencer has been a very busy boy.



• Jamie is all about LaCrosse. She was just moved up to the varsity team (I think because she shows no fear and is very aggressive and competitive!) She got 3 of their 16 goals in the game against Logan. She also just passed her driving test and only has to get her hours in on her learners permit and then she will be on the road. If she is as bad a driver as I was--beware! Jamie also just tried out for the Musical Productions Class at Davis--cross your fingers.




• Last night was the final night of Allyse's play at the Rodgers Memorial Theater in Centerville. (see attached pictures) It was the Whiz. She was so cute as "Goldie" in Oz. Her voice lessons have come in very handy and she is getting to be quite the dancer! Her braces are supposed to come off next month. She can hardly wait.




• Jordan still breathes, eats and sleeps football (same with Ty). They both can't wait for community football to start and are both the star quarterbacks at school recess. Their biggest excitement lately was when Steven arrived home with a trampoline! Nurse Francis wasn't thrilled. Earlier this week he had to get all dressed up for his school fieldtrip to the Symphony. As he got ready to walk out the door I had to take this picture (see attached) since he looked like a mini missionary headed off for a day of tracting.




• Tyler is growing up so fast and is the star player on his soccer team. Yesterday he got 4 of their 5 goals. His fervor matches that of his brother Brandon's. He continues to shine as a star pupil in his classroom and can't wait for BYU football camp in June. I think he asks me every day "how much longer?"




• I just got asked to speak in church on Mother's Day. I am convinced that Steven worked in colusion with the Bishop to find a way to assure that I would actually stay in Sacrament Meeting this year. I usually escape. I've already decided what my talk title will be--What NOT to do. That I can speak authoritatively about. Between working and wishing I hadn't said "yes" to speaking at so many conferences this year there is little time to be any kind of mother. Grandma Deanne can be blamed for a few of the speaking invitations! I've also been asked to be on the medical team for the Stake Youth Trek the first week of June. It has been a great motivator to get back to my exercise routine. If the weather doesn't start improving I'll be coming to Brett for the full winter gear! They expect it to get below freezing at night. What was it about saying "no"?

We are wondering where the rest of the Francis blogs are? We love to get on and read about how all are doing and see pictures of family far and near.

Peter - April 20, 2008

Dear Family,
Short entry this week.  Work still busy but not quite as bad.  ESPN was in on Thursday as they are looking to roll out more live games using our technology.  We have a big problem in that in order to do a live show, you need about $60,000 worth of hardware.  If you're doing 6 games at a time, you need six times that plus a couple of backup systems.  That's a LOT of money, even for them.  Anyway, meetings and demos went good.  They are excited for my product which is full screen (chrome-less, border-less).  You will enjoy it as well.

Friday night, I drove north but was so tired, I pulled off the freeway in Bountiful to get a drink but took a nap and ended up sleeping for two hours!!! I couldn't wake up.  I'd gone for my first bike ride after work (outside ride) and it was just wonderful.  Nice weather and felt good to get out and fly!

Saturday morning found me and my father out in the pasture with the wire stretchers in my hands fixing fence.  It was good to be in the sun and even though the wind was blowing, it was warm.  Good to spend time with Dad.  Not sure we made any lasting progress on that old fence but...that seems to be the nature of work on the farm.  Dad and Mom were both a little under the weather so I drove to the Webb farm where the 5 car garage had been magically transformed into a matrimonial gastronomy garden with flowers, food, fun and friends.  The was a curtain of white the walled in white tables, chairs and silver trays of shrimp, salmon, pasta and colorful fruit.  A good time was had by all...except maybe the groom who was suffering from the same flue that most everyone else has been experiencing. 

Drove back to Grace for a good night's sleep and then up and to church.  Dad and Mom still not feeling too well and with the bitter cold wind, not too excited to go outside.  I came back to an elk roast dinner with the Kent Clegg family and another nap before driving back to Utah.  Joe, Kai are growing and go around like little men.  Niah celebrated her birthday a couple of days early..she will be FIVE on Tuesday. 

On down the road, stopped by and visited with Frank and Melissa and ate pudding.  Gavie and Sophie were in their beds but not asleep...i wanted to go collect their little hugs but was afraid it would rile them up too much.  Little Drew sat there in his chair asleep but smiling happily as he dreamed away.  Stopped by Dan's for a minute while Hayley practiced for her play tryouts and Dan and I moved the Mooney motor from little Toyota truck to big Toyota truck.

And today...back to work again.  Another good week in the works...I hope!

Littlefields

Well, this week was spring vacation for Alpine School District, so we went on a traditional spring trip to Moab and the Arches National Park.  We left Monday and came back Wednesday.  It was warm both days, but it was really windy on Tuesday as we were climbing around the Arches.  Grandma and Grandpa Littlefield (Steve and Ruth) went with us, which always makes any trip fun. 

 

We have 5 more weeks until Kelly's graduation (May 30th) at the Marriott Center.  Erica also turned 12 this week, and Melissa turns 15 this coming week.  All the kids are at a youth fireside tonight, including Erica.  In one month we will be permanently finished with elementary school.  That is really weird.  We don't feel that old.

 

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot of news from us.  We're just plugging along.  We've been very  blessed and pray for the same for every one of you.  Thanks for being all so great.

Hi from Fruit Heights;

 

Here is a snap shot of our activities the past couple of weeks.  Shannon has been busy traveling to meetings in SLC and Ogden.  She went to Logan on Thursday, had lunch with Janet and then watched Jamie’s lacrosse game (which was held at the Campbell’s backyard right next to Ben’s). 

Jamie scored three goals and they won.  Then Jamie had another game on Friday down at Woods Cross stadium.  They played the state champs and beat them 6-4. I understand when they get the ball into the net.  That’s about as far as it goes.  The rest of the time it looks like lot’s of running with sticks. 

I was in LA for account reviews last week.  Our office is about 6 blocks south of where uncle Russ used to work for Hughes (now Boeing).  The pictures are looking directly west toward LA airport.   This past week I didn’t travel anywhere but will leave for a 3 day swing through Montana tonight. 

Spencer had his last Jr Prom at Davis High last night.  After all the dance and dinner they came over to the house for treats. See pictures. We were up until 2am with them.  What a great group of kids. 

Tyler’s soccer was a barn burner yesterday.  They tied the other team 4-4.  His team has gone undefeated the past 2 years until yesterday.  The other team was tripping, tackling, etc.  Tyler had a 2 goals and could have got two more.  He was on a breakaway twice and was tackled.  Anyway, it was a great game.

Allyse started the play she has been going to practices for the last 2 years—it feels like.  They put on the play 3 times yesterday and once on Friday.

Yesterday I spent all day getting the flower beds ready and weeding.  If it will stop snowing, we may plant some flowers some day. 

 

 

Hello Everyone from new little Andrew to 
Peter;       

     Sorry we have been so diliatory in writing because we do enjoy so much when you all write and send pictures.  We know it is busy times for all and appreciate having several family members visit. Stuart, Larsen, and Boston.  Dan and David on Conf. weekend, Frank surprised us on Sunday morning and spent the whole day.  Don and Greshen and family came for the evening to attend the viewing for Dean Mathews.  Virginia, Paisley, Alyssa, Andrew and friend Angel came Mon. and stayed until this morning.

    Stuart and the boys surprised us and spent a few hours in the canyon while mom was in class.

 

    Dan, David Kerry and boys got in on the last of the snowmobiling and think they had a good time. Also went to Priesthood meeting (without Grandpa for the first time in a long time). 

    Frank went to church with us, the first time we've been there for a month, and just had a nice visit and little nap in the afternoon.  He went to the viewing for Dean with Don and Greshen which took two hours.

    Don and Greshen brought the makings for "Lumpy Dick(pudding in old English)" first we've had since they made it last. Kent's children were here also and we did a pretty good job of keeping track of all until the girls all went upstairs to play so the boys wouldn't throw all their game pieces around.  All of a sudden Joe turned up missing.  Grandpa was just getting his jacket on to go look for him when Kent drove in carrying him.  He was down past their house in only in his diaper!  Not sure where he was going.

    Virginia and family had one evening of good weather, riding the little pony, visiting all the animals and driving grandpa's little tractor. Then it snowed ect. and on Wed. she and I shared the stomach flu! Dad was kept busy waiting on both of us. Don't know where I got it but it seems to be traveling quickly through the family with Mignon and Kiana, today.  

    Today Dad is doing what he really enjoys doing.  Fencing!  He has taken his camper and folding chair so he can sit down, to the field and has spent most of the day there.

    Both of the funerals were very nice.  Shirley's family did the whole program including the music which they do very well.  Roy gave the life sketch for Dean's which was mostly the children's memories.  Dean's friend Dan Keller from Preston spoke and Lassie's brother, also Louie Tibbets.  Darrin Mathews sang two numbers and Jane Stoddard and Suszanne Hardy.  Lot's of people there. 

    Better not go on forever but just want everyone to know how dearly we love you all and wish we were closer together but--- if all had "skype" it would help to feel closer.  Not suggesting anything really.        Well, better get to work, as I have taken too much time being sick yesterday and am getting behind.     Loves and hugs to all   Grandpa and Grandma

Peter's Week

Last Monday seems so far away...I can't even remember what went on that far ago.  I keep thinking I've been at this job for nine months but it hasn't even been six yet!  The big events this week were a big sales meeting on Wednesday.  I started a 45 minute presentation at 4:30 (hoping to be done by 5;30 or 6 and at 10 to 7, I stopped to call the other scout master to say I was inextricably stuck. At 10:45, I just got up and walked out and went home.  Thursday was sales engineer training which I was in on.  Friday, I was triple booked in meetings most of the day...it's pretty busy.  Friday night home at 11. Saturday, worked most of the day and then back to the office til 2:45 a.m. getting ready for a demo at the National Association of Broadcasters this week in Las Vegas.  Sunday night I stopped by as we were streaming the super bowel of soccer in Mexico (Chivas vs. America)...quite the operation with a satellite feed in from Mexico (we have a big satellite dish outside the building) to a huge room of computers where we turn the feed into files to stream on the Internet.  It then heads back on down to Mexico where they watch it...if they can get it.  The infrastructure doesn't seem to be that good...in some cases, we think it's hooked to wire fence! 

 

But, yesterday I mowed the lawn for the first time this spring.  It looks nice and feels good to have all the trees trimmed.  I bought paint for my bedroom but haven't painted it yet.  Tonight, I went over to the Hunters and we got them set up on Skype and then visited with Grandpa and Grandma for a few minutes and Emily, Macie, Grant and Abby who were there.  I'm looking forward a good nights sleep and hopefully a good week this week with all the other execs at the show...Maybe I'll get something done!  Good to talk to all of you and see so many of you this week.

Welcome April

It's snowing like crazy outside and the kids are all at school, an Andrew is watching PBS.  I think I'm getting used to this new format but I need to show the kids how to use it. I haven't taken the time to reorient them.  The  week in review consisted of Alyssa having her SEP conference with her teacher.  She was delighted to receive all A's.  I'm very impressed with her writing progress.  She had written 5 essay's to show me at the meeting.  Her teacher said she is really bright when she puts her mind to it.  Kayla is working hard in school and also did very well this term.  In fact I'm grateful that all the girls have done so well.  She was asked to be the front banner carrier for the DC parade and so will be getting in on some of the action.  Nan, Michael, Kayla, Will Hayden and Cami are all going.  I did some research on the area to help them come up with ideas of things to do.  It looks to be a great trip if the weather cooperates.  The parade will be broadcast live on wjla.com and on cable network News Channel 8 at 10:00 am Eastern Standard time (8:00 am our time) on Saturday April 12. Cami has been busy with extra practices and learning to drive stick in Michael's truck.  The truck just sits in the driveway while Michael is gone, so we thought maybe she could put it to good use and take a little load off me. Micahel worked in L.A. all week and then we were privileged to have him home for conference.  It was great! We miss our dad and especially his sense of fun!  He drove up to Salt Lake for priesthood session Saturday night to attend with his brothers,(inlaw) and dad. Conference was wonderful.  It is really interesting to see change take place as President Monson assumes this new mantle and moves forward.  In some ways I feel we all kind of hesitate, trying to get a new emphasis on what to do next, without really knowing it.  It seems to be a time of faith and moving forward.  Thanks for writing everyone and it's great to read your news.  Virginia

Hi, this is Melissa. School is coming so close to an end which is really good. In 2 months Kelly graduates from High School. Josh is doing really good in school too, hes gotten straigh A's all year. Joe is trying out for the mens acapela group...I think that's how you spell it. Amanda is taking track, and Anna is her coach, and it's alot of fun. Erica's birthday is coming up soon. As for me i'm getting my patriarchle blessing this next week. These are some things to keep you updated!

Soda Cleggs WU

NOthing exciting ha woppenend this week other than Don skipperd work on Wedneday to go skiing at Pebble Creek only to find out that it was closed. He called home to get the clearance from the boss (whatever- that's what I say)SO Don and Reggie went to Pomerelle. They had a great day of boarding and skiing. There were only 4 other people there and pretty much had it to themselves. Afterwards they stopped in at the Webb Dairy and dinner which was alot better than what he would have gotten at home. He got to ride motorcycles, shoot some hoops, and eat. It was a lot warmer there than it was here. We were getting a mini blizzard. While the rest of the family went to the Artic Circle we got about 2 inches of snow!!! We are getting a bit sick of the snow and can't wait to actually see the grass!!! We spent the Friday & Saturday cleaning for visitors (it was the only way I could get the kids to help) and nobody showed up. It was a little different not at least sharing a bit of the conference weekend with family. OH we went to Grace on Friday to see Dad for his birthday. It was fun and then Peter got us hooked on this Skype thing that we are having too much fun with. Greshen has called her family to try and get them on it. I hope we don't annoy anyone with it, but it's always fun to use something new over and over again til you finally get sick of it. We tried to call Pete for something and ended up talking to Anna and Stephen. What fun that was. We enjoyed the talks given at Conference and have now to reflect on them and set some personal goals for ourselves. My favorite part was when President Monson was talking aabout our homes being a sanctuary and that all worldy storms should end at the door. That is what I am going to try to make my home. Oh and all you women and mothers- Don't you just love Elder Ballard more now? Love you all and hope you have a great week. Soda Cleggs

This week was kind of mentally relaxing because it’s the week following quarter end.  I took 5 pictures.  One picture is called “Which light is brighter?”  When my bulb burned out there weren’t any 40 watt replacements.  So I fretted about it for 30 minutes then decided a 90 watt is better than nothing….watt ever.  The other picture is our typical evening with lacrosse, homework, reading, etc.  It’s labeled “typical evening with lacross, homework, reading, etc.” 

 

 

Yesterday we went to Tyler’s first soccer game of the season.  We won 3-2 and Tyler scored two goals.  Then we went to Valley nursery and ordered 3 cubic yards of top soil for our flower beds.  I’m feeling the Grandmother Clegg green thumb urge to really show color this year.  The boys and I walked through the nursery and looked at all the beautiful annuals.  It was fun. 

 

I BOUGHT A BIKE RACK!!!  See picture.  Sorry…just had to let everyone know how much I deserved this little splurge.  For 19 years I’ve been picking up, moving, and even (backing over) bicycles.  We stopped Pitcher sports and when I saw it sitting there, had to buy it.  Jordan put it together for me.  Then said that he and Tyler don’t want to ride bikes any more.  They ride rip-stix now.  And later they’ll ride the scooter.  Oh well.
