Peter's Week

Not much new other than enjoying the  fantastic weather of summer.  Here's a shot I took when I got to Idaho on Saturday night of the sunset and clouds.  I guess it rained hard in Soda just before the fireworks but this was the extent of it at home.  Had a nice ride with Dad up to the Beaver Dams.  Everything was so beautiful and green.  To Idaho Falls on Monday morning with Mom and picked up a pump for Kent then back to Orem by Monday night.

Work is more of the same.  We're anticipating a new CEO announcement maybe this week so everyone is a little tense.  Most likely he/she will announce a focused direction and there will be more layoffs.  The head of sales got let go on Tuesday of this week.  Some interesting dynamics going on and some of us are just hoping for resolution and a direction that's achievable.

I painted the living and dining rooms over the weekend and move furniture back in place.  Had a quick visit from Frank, Gavin and Sophie.  Gavin went to ride Grandpa's Trike and I didn't think much of how he would actually do it but as you can see from this video, he managed just fine!

Oops..this video has been deleted. If you want you're own private file, you will have to ask me for it (4MB).

Saw these two motorcycles for sale...anyone want to go with me to Vietnam for a month or two cruizin? http://vietnam.craigslist.org/mcy/1253946563.html

"Guten tag" from Jessica and Clayton in Germany

----------

Hi!  We made it to Germany without a problem.  The flight was long, but we did it.  My friend picked us up at the airport in Frankfurt and we squeezed in with all five of our bags.  The house is fun.  We unpacked a bit and then napped.  That night we slept very well.  We made dinner for ourselves and enjoyed the new home.  Yesterday I went to work for a bit while Jessica began unpacking and familiarizing herself with the house and town.  That, of course, took all of five minutes to do.  Last night we went to our first ball where we met lots of people and overloaded our circuits before coming home and getting some more well earned rest.  Today we are doing errands and continuing the moving in process.

Hope all is well with you.  Thank you for your help and support.  Love, Clayton

Steven/Shannon 070709

Hi Everyone;
Quick update from our family.  Last weekend we had to split up and I went to Idaho to pick up Allyse and Don and Greshens.  Shannon stayed and watched Jamie in the parade on the Davis Officer float. Soda Springs was a blast.  Don and Greshen fed us crepes, took us to the reservoir for boating, cooked dutch oven potatoes, and took us to the 1 hour fireworks (no budget problems in Soda it appears).  Mom and Dad Clegg came up and David and Shirley stopped by for dinner.
Sunday night, Tyler, Jordan and two of their friends went with us to Provo for the John Beck football camp on Mon/Tues.  I've included the pictures.  The BYU football players are really awesome with the boys.  Tyler and Jordan were in the defensive backs training and both did a great job.  One of the pictures shows Jordan doing rock, paper, scissors to determine who was on defense first.  He won.  They had a mini play-off so the boys could practice their training.

Hot Day in September

Was just going through some envelops and this page dropped out.  I think it was written in Mom's handwriting...  Any of you family artists care to illustrate this for posterity sake?  It's quite a word picture!!!

It was September and all the children were in school except Frank.  Shortly after arriving at school, Donald accidentally cut his head and called for me to come and get him.  I did and we bandaged his cut and kept him at home.  Later in the day as I was washing dishes I noticed Grandpa baling hay with the roller baler.  I was startled to see smoke coming from the baler and on looking more closely, I could see flames also.  I called to Donald and he ran quickly down to tell him and then Grandpa started for the shop where there was water, leaving clumps of burning hay all along the way.  There was an abundance of dry grass surrounding all the buildings and I was afraid if it caught fire, no telling where it would stop.  I filled a garbage can full of water and Donald grabbed a large thick white bath towel and between the two of us we beat out all the small fires.  In the mean time Grandpa drove on up to the tap and sprayed the hay in the baler until the fire was out.  We felt it was providential that Don had to come home that day.
