Anna & Steve: Another week in the bank of time

Dearest Family,

I suppose I can call you all that... This is Steve. Anna decided that it was my turn to write to you all. First off mom, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you tonight my phone ran out of batteries. I still love you and I miss talking to you and Dad. I'll try and call tomorrow (Monday). It's probably weird for Hayden and Jessica to hear this in an email. Anyway, news from the week... Anna had parent teacher conferences and it went well for the most part. One women questioned her degree because her child was failing her class and somehow it was all Anna's fault. She made sure that Anna knew she had her masters degree. In what, we still aren't really sure but none the less she has her masters degree and we all know that that means she is much smarter than everyone that doesn't... However, for the most part people would just compliment her and tell her how much their son or daughter loved her and how they thought she was the prettiest and smartest teacher they have ever had. I pretty much would have to agree. She keeps truckin along getting up everyday just in time to make it to school before class starts. I sure am grateful for her willingness to work while I go to school. School for me is going well. It's been a very stressful semester but I've had a very supporting wife and family behind me and it makes all the stress and work worth it. I'm sure that Anna has mentioned before that I'm doing some math research for one of my professors. It's been really exciting to actually put meaning to all these numbers and symbols that I learn. If you're every curious about what exactly I am researching ask me in a couple of months. I still don't really know. We just got back from a Sunday evening with Anna's friend Amy Carlston. She was kind enough to let us go to her cabin up near Oakley, Ut. It was so nice to get away. The fall colors are in full bloom up there and the weather was perfect. It makes me miss the farm... Anna enjoyed Women's conference a lot. She spent the evening with my two sisters, Lara and Leslee. They went out to dinner after. I'm sure glad they all get along well. We were also able to host some of our friends over here during the weekend. We watched the presidential debates on Friday. It was interesting enough but, I think we all got (or maybe it was just me) sick of the tearing each other down to build oneself up strategy that they both had. It's unfortunate that this type of political strategy is so effective. It would be great to see a president get elected one years that just stood up for what he believed and didn't worry about bringing others down in the process. It's hard to make a real educated decision as to who would make the better candidate. I'm not really excited about either to be honest. It's hard to get past all the fluff down to the pure facts stripped of all it's hard candy shell. But I suppose you just have to go with whoever seems closest to the views of the church. Isn't it great to be guided by those that speak directly with a being who's leadership skills are perfect. What a great society we'll live in in the Celestial Kingdom. Well, I better go snuggle up with Anna so that she doesn't get too lonely. Actually she's sleeping now, she probably wont even notice. She's gotten a little bit sick over the past couple of days with some bad sores on her throat. So hopefully she'll feel better in the morning. Speaking of being sick it seems (mom don't be bad) that being exposed twice to raw milk was the charm. I haven't felt sick all week. I think if I just continue to slowly expose myself to the creamy goodness, I'll be able to chug-a-lug all I want. We're just hoping that it's not too far of now.

Anyway, we love you all and we're so grateful for all of your goodness and love. We feel greatly blessed to be in such wonderful families. It's really something we talk about often. We couldn't imagine a more perfect union of two families. We hope you all feel the same. Keep up the various good things that you are engaged in. We had a great talk in church today about just trusting the Lord in all that you do. He truly does have a watchful eye over us all and is concerned about ALL that we do. That was a lesson I had forgotten this week and I was grateful to be re-taught such a valuable fact in church today. We hope that the week goes well for you all. Be happy!

Latest Hunter News

All's well this weekend Michael is home, and we are thoroughly enjoying having him home.  We miss him dreadfully.  Paisley's birthday was on Friday so we had birthday breakfast at 6:50am and then sent her off for the day. Friday night Michael and she went on a date which included dinner a McGraths Fish house and to FYE for some of her favorite music (country).  She went in to Mia Maids today.  We still need have her cake but that will come tomorrow.  Cami went to Homecoming and get a load of her date.  He is older and we were quite concerned but we figured it is her senior year and why not. It turned out to be a nice evening for both of them. Kayla brought home her first paycheck from the training table and she is happy and enjoys her work.  Alyssa has had play dates and general rough housing with Andrew.  Andrew is all boy and is absolutely the cutest kid on the planet. What a great asset to our family. I attended a yoga class on Saturday and also General Women's Conference.  I loved it !!!!!!! 

P.S. We drove up Weber State to watch Cami and Kayla perform and they were amazing.  They should have a good season ahead.  I was going to wait and see if Ben and Janet came for Wyatt but, I had to get back and pick up Andrew and Alyssa.  Have a great week!!

Peter's Week

Good week. One of the highlights was Zan's rugby game on Saturday. The USU team played BYU and so I saw my first rugby game. Zan's friend Skyler was there who plays for Davis High and gave us an outline of the rules. Good think cause otherwise, it looked just like a bunch of women in a free-for-all! Quite entertaining and fairly fast paced. Here's a little video I put together of a few shots I took.

Work was good to positive. No major issues or melt downs that I was in on so that was nice. Still struggle to make progress. I went to Las Vegas for Friday meetings with a small company that is working to provide us with some of the things that we can't seem to deliver ourselves. Hopefully that will be good. Interesting the founder of the company... he is from Croatia and got into the business of providing streaming video when a person asked him to create a solution so that her wedding chapel in Las Vegas could stream weddings to family that couldn't attend. They did 15,000 weddings a year. From that, he's launched into corporate training and now does all the in house video streaming training for Adobe, Microsoft, Caterpillar and others.

Saturday after the game, I went back to yard work and house. I juiced another gallon of apples from the trees. This time I took out all the seeds and stems to see if it made any difference. Not really - that's a good juicer! Then back to painting. Finished up the east bedroom with a grey on all walls except one which was manzanita red! It was a hard color (remember the bathroom). Took about 5 coats but it looks very nice now and I like it. I'm enjoying the painting and am getting better at it. 90% of the work is prepping. Rolling and cutting out the corners is fairly easy. The hard part on this one was doing all the shelves in the closet. Next, the west bedroom. Looking at a kind of sand yellow for that. So much to do to keep a house up! Also, went for a good bike ride just at sunset and rode out to the lake and along a new section of bike path that was just put in this winter. Looking for a 50 mile loop that me and a few of the scouts can do the week after conference.

Old Hunter News

Well I just finished typing a two paragraph entry and lost it all.  Short version Michael is in L.A. Cami is prepping colleage application stuff and getting read for all-state band try outs.  Kayla started a new job at the Training Table, so far so good. Paisley dog sat this weekend for her business. Alyssa is in an afterschool play "The Emporers New Clothes".  Andrew is talking clearer and charms us daily.  Mom is trying new recipes, whole wheat apple pie and chicken mango today with help from the girls.
This weekend was regional conference and absolutley beautiful weather. Have a great week and Happy Birthday to Pete!!!!!

Hunter's Week

Hello everyone!  It has been such goreous beautiful weather here that we can hardly believe it.  Yesterday Paisley Andrew Alyssa (and friend) walked down to the RiverBottoms Chocolate shop.  Paisley has a hankering for sweet things and has turnned into quite the delicatesen.  She is very systematic about trying something that she has never tasted before.  We bought dog bones dipped in white chocolate for Andrew only to find out that they are really for dogs.  We had to buy something else for him but he didn't seem to mind the bones.  We had a nice walk back up the hill in the settting sun.  Yesterday was Regional Conference and so last night I attended the adult session and today we went to the general session. It was good.  This afternoon we tried a apple pie recipe that everyone helped make.  It was low-fat and no sugar and whole wheat but very tender and tasty.  We also tried a chicken mango rice recipe that was good too.
The run down is that Michael went back Wednesday morning and we have been rather loney without him.  Kayla started a new job at the Training Table and so far so good. We ran around getting her items for her uniform.  Cami is working hard and getting nervous about applying to schools and taking care of all of that. Paisley is doing well so far and had a dog sitting job this weekend.  Alyssa just started in an after school play "The Emporers New Clothes".  Andrew is just the cutest, sweetest kid ever.  He continues to charm all who come throught the door by his politness and expressions.  He is boy all over.  Today he was using grocey bags to hop around in, something of the sack race concept.  He was also jumping on Alyssa's bed and bouncing from the end table back to the bed. Hello Everyone!
Sorry about all the pictures last week with no explanation. I put

site. Anyway, there were some cool things I caught. See if you can
find the guy throwing up in those set of pictures. Anyway, what a
past week. Monday I went to Provo for appts and stopped by to get
Spence's car inspected and new tires. Good to see him again!!! We
miss him in our home. He had just got back from going to the temple
to do baptisms and for little Logan. I didn't have to travel this
week but will be in Boise again this upcoming week. Shannon has been
busy trying to juggle motherhood, work, and helping Nikki with little
Logan. Jamie had homecoming this week and I've included a picture of
her date and other pics of Hayley and friends. GREAT NEWS!!! Allyse
Nicole Clegg is now FIRST CHAIR FLUTE for Fairfield Jr High Band.
She's been asked to play the piccolo as well. On the football:
Both Tyler and Jordan won their last games yesterday and finished 6-1
for the season. Jordan ran tail back and had two monster runs to the
3 yard line and 1 yard line. He almost had a pick off. Tyler's team
played undefeated West Haven and beat them 12-6. It was pretty
exciting to watch. Tyler had two interceptions. The last
interception was with 14 seconds on the clock and West Haven driving
for a touchdown. Their best player was number 27 and Coach Potter re-
tooled our defense and put Tyler man for man coverage on 27 whenever
he got the ball. It worked. (And all you laughed when we played
pass patterns in the basement). I'll try to put captions on the

Dearest family: Mom says that it is my turn to write but I told her I dont know what to write about and she says just tell them about what you have been doing...so for what it is worth here  goes.There have been quite a few things in the last week or so that have helped things look up for us and I will try and give a little detail.  The biggest single thing is that I seem to be feeling better physically and most of this is atributed  getting more exercise.  I had just about resigned myself to being an invalid because of the pain in my back, but aside of the daily chores of feeding the wild birds up in the pen,and the bunnies and the chickens and gathering the eggs etc. I coaxed mom to go with me and we took the old 69 camper and went down to lago and up the lower ant canyon to the camp ground and unloaded my bicycle and mom and I hiked back up the canyon for about 1/2 mile, me pushing the bicycle walking along side Zan.  When we got up to where we wanted to go I decided to ride the bike back and she was going to walk by herself.  It was down hill all the way and I just coasted, one problem was it was a little steeper than the brakes wanted to hold and it turned out to be quite a ride.  It seemed so peacful and made you want to go back as soon as we could.  I spent a good part of yesterday working on the bicycle I got from richard and have it now fixed up pretty nice.. I have to tell you now about my helpers when I go and feed the birds etc. Kai and joe.  They are getting old enough now so they are some help and it is intresting how serious they get when they are trying to help  I dont know what more to say but we would like to take you all on a grand tour of the lower ant canyon  and show you what's there  with no amenities.  With love Granpa Clegg...

Peter's Week

Gotta be quick.. 9% power left on this machine and I left my charger at work.  Good week generally.  Got out the latest version of our product to ABC - 210000 hits in the first 12 hours and only about 8 real problems so very, very good.  Two days later, they rolled their new site that incorporated our new features and it looks very nice.  Still some problems but working through them.  So.. at least 2 positive days this week.  One of my peers quit on Friday - one day after his year anniversary.  I just passed my 10 month mark so we'll see what the next two months bring.  Weekend was good. Painted most all of Saturday getting ceilings done in two bedrooms, the laundry, upstairs hall and a bathroom.  Now just gotta do the walls.  Getting where I enjoy it if I'm not in a major hurry.  Did a bike ride up to South Fork on Sat and enjoyed the autumn leaves.  It was a good day - maybe because I took some ibuprofin before I started everything and wasn't so achy! I also got a gallon and a half of juice from my apples that I picked up - it's pretty tastey and I hope I don't wear out my Jack Lalayne juicer! I got some plastic bottles and have been freezing it.  Good Sunday as Kinny Edmunds had his farewell...he is SUCH an awesome kid.  Very difficult to tell if it was his farewell or homecoming!  Headed to Sweden. Had dinner at the Hulme's, a court of honor for the kids that got merit badges at camp, and visited with the Gibbs.  Good day.  Oh... and one more thing.... I test drove that BMW Z4 3SI - Sweet!!!!

Peter's Week

Another beautiful fall week...capped off by a spectacular Saturday.  I got up, mowed the lawn, fixed a leak in the roof, and cut down the other trunk to the flowering pair tree.  I had left one trunk standing with several large branch stubs and one lonely leaf branch shooting skyward--as a conversation piece, so that neighbors would have something to talk to me about because it was so ugly.  But... Cindy was the only one that said anything.  Apparently several had commented to her though, so yesterday, I cut down the rest and now have a neat stack of firewood that may be useful in a year or so when it drys out.  I had paint on my hands from prepping the upstairs bedrooms for new colors when there was a knock at the door and here was Melissa and darling Andrew.  We visited for a while and then I went back to patching the wall where the outside leak in the roof had come in.  Then the movers brought the new bedroom set so it's now set up and Mom and Dad's room is all ready for them.  Soon, there was another knock and here was sister Paula.  She had brought down the boys to the BYU game so we visited and then went shopping for fruit and then for a walk.  Time for dinner so we invited over the Hunters and Littlefields and ate curry and made cookies.  It was certainly nice to have all of them come visit and eat.  It's the first time I've turned on the stove I think since Mom was here.  (The auto liter started working again for some reason).  Anyway, it was a very nice Saturday and attached is a picture of the sisters.  

Work this week... pretty neutral - three neutrals, a positive and a negative.  We have been tasked with finding a new way for the company to make money...in my mind it would be to just make what we have work well and charge for that but that strategy appears to be too simple.

Thanks to all who helped me celebrate my birthday.  I enjoyed dinner at Frank & Melissa's and visiting with Dan, Steve and kids.  Then Monday a party at the Littlefields with the Hunters and the Greenes.  Not a great week for exercise but hope to get on it this week and get more painting done in addition to work.  I've been thinking about this travel idea where I manage to get to the northern most road in Alaska on June 21 and then follow the sun line south to the equator and then to the tip of Patagonia by December 21 - it would be called the Longest Day Trip.  Each day you would be where the longest day in the western hemisphere occurs.  Anyone want to go? (like when and if I can retire)

Dear Family

So this week was really interesting and had some fun twists to it.  last tuesday i got a call from both of the sisters that were in my group coming out to the country.  it was their last day as missionaries and they we all talked on speaker phone for a few minutes.  it was pretty cool to hear from them.  am so thankful that we had sisters in our mtc group!   they were really mature and helped out alot.  it was a really fun conversation and it reminded me of how fast the time has gone. so i am now a bacsi.(old man) we get that name out here when the sisters in our groups go home...soo...i am that.

erzsike is doing really good and is completely off of coffee.  we a working with her right now on the last commandment before baptism...tithing.  this will be hard for her but we are working with her to show her that she can do it.  the hardest part is knowing that she would give that and a whole bunch more but the problem is that she gets just enough from her retirement to pay the bills and keep her house in order...she lives a really simple life and loves how simple it is.  she lives almost completly out of her own garden and is worried that this crazy weather will not provide for her winter needs...i hope it all works out.  she is such a good person and wants and trys to do her best. this may be a stretch for her but she can do it. we went and picked apples for her the other day off from her one apple tree...she was tickled to see that she had a nice little harvest.  it was cool to help out.

on friday we went and helped  a guy build his house.  he lived in enlgand for a long time and knows english but always speaks in hungarian with a few english words to help us with some vocab we dont know about building houses...its cool to see how they build their houses.  its totally different.  its cool though

soo this transfer me and my companion are just speaking hungarian with each other.  its cool.  i feel like i have progressed a ton in these last two trasnsfers...my companion is really smart with the language so i have learned a ton from him and we are always working together working on new ways to say things...the syl ing (speak your language)  is helping a ton with that.

church yesterday...few in numbers but like mom said...it doest matter if there are 400 people there or 20 its still the same spirit. hey at least all the missionaries bore their testimonies....and one member:)serious

well dad...i guess you can go get that 60 inch tv now...ive waited for at least 7 years for this...and yep im expecting to wait 7 more:) i love you dad!

HI!  Oh, how I love you all.  I love your letters and your thoughts and your wisdom and your wonderful examples.  I'm sure I've said this a hundred times, but some Wednesdays I come to your window just to say hi and see how your doing.

Not to worry, my cold is drying up.  I've been through an entire economy size package of toilet paper single handed, but I think I will live to see another day.

This week was a tough one, which leaves my little mind tied up in the sheets.  But we still have so much to be greatful for.  We got to meet with a woman named Tatijana, who I met at a bus stop.  We met, prayed, and spoke of the glory of the Restoration of the priesthood, all on the sidewalk leading to Lietuvos Energija.  She was a little overwhelmed by the news, but promised to read and pray about it.  We also met with Veronika, who turns 88 this year.  She was an unusual find.  She lived in a very common apartment building, but upon entering her flat we discovered that her's took up the whole level...very wealthy woman, by Lithuania's standards.  She is the sister of Joseph Russi, (not sure on the spelling) who is a "famous" architect in America.  Look him up.  She also LOVES Mary very much.  I've decided that Mary was something for the women of the Catholic church to latch on to...a religious escape for feminists.  Unfortunately it just got taken a little too far.

We also had Zone Conference yesterday.  The attached pictures are of our Lithuanian Zone.  The one with out the leaders was one we took while we were waiting for them to show up.  We were blessed with the opportunity to have President Gibbons, from our Area Presidency come to speak to us.  I also got a little special one on one time with him when he pulled me aside to let me know my prelude was a little too fancy.  I was embarressed, but somehow still apprecieated the reprimend. : )

This weekend was Vilniaus Diena...i.e. classy-Eupopean county fair.  It was a good opportunity to find families out and about, though most of them that we talked to had already met with missionaries and had decided against it.  One guy stopped us and asked us if he could take our picture, cause we were soooo beautiful.  Haha...just kidding.  He didn't say we were beautiful, but it did spark some interesting conversation.  There were tons of going on all the way up Gedimino, which happened to be our route home.  They had two big rock concerts going on in the streets and squares, and we felt so out of place worming our way through the crowd of rowdy people trying to get home for the evening.

We also decided to just "drop-by" Sveta's apartment.  She hasn't answered calls or text messages or anything.  So we picked a time when we knew she would be home and went by.  Oh how sad we were when a half-naked man opened the door.  He said she was in the shower, as he eyed us up and down.  When we first met her she had just been beaten by her at the time boyfriend.  i'm not sure if this was the same guy, but it just confirmed my suspicions that something had stepped into interupt her investigation.  So sad.

Zone Conference brought a lot of good advice and direction, but most of it was direction to just figure things out for ourselves.  I find that to be wonderful that God will let us know what WE personally need to do.  I'm not sure how missionary work is going in the rest of the world, but we are trying to focus on helping the members to fulfil their missionary responsibilites.  The goal is that all of our finding will be through members.  Are you guys finding people? He gave us lots of ideas on how to help the members gain confidence in being missionaries...So here you go.

Express your love to your friends.  And to God.  It brings in the Spirit.

Be straight forward, simple, and honest.  He said one of his affluential friends in Boston brings people into the church by saying..."My church puts a lot of pressure on me to bring non-members to activities.  Will you be my non-member?"  He said he's done a lot of good with his approach and efforts.

Don't be to serious about it. We are here to have joy, the gospel is a message of joy, so make it joyful!

Find families.  Focus on entire families who need to the gospel, so they can help each other to accept and live according to the commandments.

Peter's Week

Grandmother Clegg's Birthday Today

What a great weekend so far! I started out Friday night on the way home from work, buying myself a birthday present.  Seems rather selfish but I enjoyed it.. a new chainsaw.  It's a little Stihl and on Saturday, I used it go cut down three trees in the yard.  I had an Aspen that had died a couple of years ago and then eliminated the two flowering pairs that were in the corner by the mailbox.  They grow so fast and were shedding something terrible on the neighbor's driveway.  They were also blocking the sun from the honey locust that I really want to be the center tree of that part of the yard.  I left one trunk with on branch sticking up to see if any of the neigbors say anything.  It looks like Charley Brown and pretty ugly.

We had stake conference today but it was actually 135 stakes from Utah and Wasatch counties.  It was really quite incredible in that it was broadcast from the Marriott Center.  President Packer talked on how that the technology has enabled them to have meetings around the world from church headquarters and they were now using video conferencing to interview mission presidents as each has to be interviewed by one of the Twelve.  "We can't convey authority without being in person but we can do most everything else," he said.  Afterwards, me and Scott Wells and another neighbor were up on the stage figuring out how they got the signal to the church building and looking at the projection technology.  Tonight is the maiden voyage of using Move Networks technology for the CES Fireside for the Church.  They installed encoders in the conference center and Elder Holland will be speaking with his talked streamed live in HD over LDS.org.  President Uchtdorf also talked and said that we should ask ourselves two questions and then listen to the spirit for the answers.  1) What can I do to increase my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? 2) What can I do to strengthen my family? I had some interesting thoughts on both of these and feel bad that I didn't get a cousin's camp going this year.  So... will look forward to getting the Christmas Party planned. 

Linda Christensen was down this week to a craft show so stayed here Friday night.  We had a good visit and got caught up on each other's families.  She gave me some excellent ideas on painting the house and colors so I'm set on what to do next.  She and Nathan want to go to Thailand and I want to go to Italy with them so we decided we need to get some travel plans made...and a way to afford how to do it.  Just heading out the door to have dinner with Frank, Melissa and kids tonight and then to the Littlefields with Hunters tomorrow night. 

Work this week was ... it just was.  No positive days but several neutral.  We have been streaming the NFL games to people living outside the US.  Got comments from all over saying how well it worked.  Iceland, Turkey, Korea.  Just getting geared up for the new fall seasons for Fox and ABC.  Fox's new series Fringe which is supposed to be pretty good will debut this Tuesday night with us streaming online live at the same time it's on TV--a first.  I've been working more this week with box vendors that will allow our technology to connect direct to a TV instead of through a computer.  Probably a year off on those solutions.

Did a couple of great bike rides and enjoyed some spectacular sunsets.  For scouts, we biked up to Bridal Veil Falls on Tuesday and it was a perfect night as far as weather.  Have been riding my mountain bike more and do the water towers to the access road and then when I get to the top, lay on the warm cement cistern and watch the sun go down.  I also enjoyed a great week of food!  At mostly fresh produce as Ben loaded me up with corn and cucumbers on Monday and I had tomatoes from my garden with fresh fruit.

Hi Everyone;
The past two weeks have brought some pretty big changes around our
house. Namely Spencer packed up and left for school. We still feel a
bit of a hole in the "family fabric" kinda like when Brandon left. I've
included a couple of pics of Spencer and his cousin Marcus Tanner.
They're roommates at Carroll Hall on campus. Anyway, whenever we call
Spencer it sounds like BYU campus is a big party with lot's of girls
laughing in the background. Hope he remembers to study and go to work.
Jamie is working 3 days a week after school at the Secret Haven. Last
week the power went out for their cash registers so they were writing
receipts on post-it notes. On top of that they are getting ready for a
Fall Preview and some rich ladies were mad at Jamie because she couldn't
sell them an item. Allyse is playing her flute and they've asked her to
play a piccolo in the band. She is very dedicated to practicing.
Tyler, Jordan and I went to our first guitar lesson on Wednesday. The
kid was very nice but looked like a stoner---until he picked up his
guitar and did a quick jam. Oh my he can play. He was teaching us how
to play a guitar from the reference point of Wii Guitar Hero. Course,
Tyler and Jordan were nodding their heads up and down with full
comprehension. I was stupified. Shannon was in Tuscon Thurs-Sat
evening. We barely managed to get by without her. Wingers on
Wednesday, Maverick hot dogs on Thursday, and Subway on Friday.
Whewww. Good thing she wasn't gone any longer or we'd run out of fast
food joints in Kaysville. Big news. Jordan is back in action with a
thumb splint. They molded a piece of hot plastic to his thumb and when
it cooled it becomes a splint. he got in 12-15 plays Saturday and his
team is now 4-0. They won 27-0 over Farmington. Then we jumped in the
car and rushed up to Eden (Ogden Valley near Huntsville). What a
gorgeous setting to watch little squirts run up and down the field
playing football. Tyler scored the first touchdown and they won 38-0. I
felt sorry for the Eden team with only 15 players. Our team had 24
players and the coaches were cycling fresh kids in every play. After
that, we came back down to Ogden and tried out a couple of 4 stroke
scooters. I'm selling Spencer's so we can put the money in his mission
fund. Today, Peter, Frank and Dan stopped by for a some chat. Well,
hope everyone is well. This has turned into an epistle but my fingers
were on a roll.

Dearest family;   Much apologies for the long "dry spell" since we have written.  Especially when we enjoy so much hearing and seeing what is going on in your lives.

    It has been wonderful summer with so many beautiful days, not too hot nor too cold.  I have especially enjoyed working in the garden even though it is now full of weeds but lots of nice tomatoes most of which I grew from seed.  The raspberries kept me busy and we did peas and beans and are now enjoying a few zuchinni and cucumbers.  We rely on family and neighbors for corn and potatoes.  We feel so blessed also to have many of you visit and enjoy the farm and are grateful to live here so we can see you when you come.

    We just returned this afternoon from Tanna's baptisim which was very sweet.  Mignon and the children and I then went picking chokecherries over at Collins.  I had already picked a bunch at Alan Hubbards and made syrup all day yesterday so Mignon gets to do it on Monday!

    Kent is working hard to get the harvesting done and it looks from the weather reports it will be good weather.  He gets his staples out on Monday and will be glad to get rid of them.  It seems he didn't take much time off for the apendectomy and due to the nice rain storm didn't feel guilty for the few days he did.

    Last night there were two coyotes right in the yard and a racoon got into the chicken coop and really stirred things up! 

    Uncle Barrie is out selling corn and is so excited as he has promised corn to half the people in the valley.  Uncle Glayd has been so good to make it all possible. 

    We wonder how our three new college students are doing and keep praying for them that it will be a good experience.  It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to go to college.  I would really like to go back sometime.
