Spencer's Peace-Out Talk

I'm not supposed to call it a "farewell" talk right? Anyway...it will be June 14 at 2:30 PM. If you are interested, there will be a potluck lunch at 11:30 am, before the meeting. My mom said she'd cover the meat, cheese, and rolls for sandwiches, so it would be best if ya'll brought salads, desserts, and drinks. If you can't come to either the lunch or the talk I won't be offended! Haha just feel free to come if your Sunday schedule permits. Thanks!

Thanksgiving Day in May...

 

Thanksgiving Day in May...Walking into the Buffet Room at the Lion House a few minutes before Jessica's bridal luncheon I was thrilled to see the room full of beautifully tables decorated with glowing candles surrounded with bouquets of pansies. Napkins of blue, green, pink and yellow were elegantly folded waiting for all the numerous guests to come. As both aunts and cousins on both sides arrived the room was filled with chatter, laughter and "oohhing" and "aahhing" at the surroundings. We were seated, the food blessed and waitresses dressed in pioneer attire bustled about serving up platters of baked ham, sour cream potatoes, green vegetables, green salad and endless Lion House rolls with honey butter. After dinner a quide shared a familiar picture of Grandma "Carlie" and stories of Brigham Young's daughters. The next two hours were filled with good food, stories about Jessica and Clayton and wonderful gifts for them in anticipation of their marriage in 3 weeks. We left the Lion House filled with gratitude for all aunts and cousins in both families who came and made it a fun event.

Approaching Jessica and Clayton's wedding I again realize how thankful I am for each of you. We have a good family and I'm grateful the circle is ever widening bringing in more and more great and wonderful people.

For the past several years each of you have, at different times, have blessed Gordon, Stuart and Anna, Jessica, and Kendrick, Hayden, Larsen, Boston and my life by coming to our various celebrations. Numerous Pumpkin parties, sports events (football, basket ball) and musical and dance recitals, graduations from high school and college, baptisms and ordinations, mission farewells and reports are just a few. And sometimes you just show up for a good time bringing good tamales, pizza, rice crispy squares, watermelon, bean dip and chips and treats which has always left us feeling content and happy.

Thank you for the support both in physical attendance and spiritually with prayers and wishes to be with us during all these fun exciting times. We are excited for each of you when you have recitals, competitions, graduations, missions and marriages coming up. Some we get to attend and others we have to watch on the Clegg Update which is now becoming the "Next Best Thing" to being there thanks to all of you who can post.

Weekend Visitors - Peter's Week

Saturday, I worked on the house and yard from 8 until 8! A very nice day and got a lot of things done...spreading new rock in some of the flower beds getting ready for the wedding.  Then, the rains came and freshened up everything.  We're getting closer.  Monday, maybe painting.  Need to do the inside as it's the backup plan in case of inclement weather.  This afternoon, Clayton's mom and sister came over and we went through the layout of the backyard reception and how we're going to light and organize.  Should be good! Jessica appears cool, calm and collected--things appear to be under control!


Last night, we went for a walk and as we got to the light, here came Amy and Shane so they parked the car and got out walked with us up into the big houses and back.  A lovely evening.  After the lovely bridal luncheon (which I only heard about), we had a family BBQ today as Frank and Melissa came as well as the Hunters.  Paula was here with Anna and Boston and then shortly Hayden, Stephen, Stuart and Larsen came as they had just gone on a road trip to Canyonlands and Cortez, Colorado.  We had pork chops on the barbie, salads, cupcakes and a very nice afternoon for visiting outside (see pictures  http://techmarketingink.com/photos/090524_BBQ/ ). 


Paula and the boys just left and so it's Anna, Steve, Jessica and I enjoying the evening watching Fireproof, a movie made by Christians on marriage.  It's a pretty good message even though it's a budget film. 

Well, it's an exciting week for all of the senior graduates.  Moving on to the next phase of life!  I keep thinking I need write up the checklist of "how you know you're an adult".   Good luck to all of you!

Hi Everyone;

 

Just a quick note and some pics.  This weekend has been a blast!!  Brandon and Ashley showed up Thursday around noon while i was cleaning the kitchen.  I've been reveling in Grandpa-dom with baby Talmage.  FYI.  He and I started the Grandpa/Grandson club.  We're the charter members---everyone else has to pay membership fee to get in.  I think $2.35 is what we'll charge. 

 

Friday we got a call from the stake president.  He said missionary department wants Spencer to leave 6 weeks early for his mission.  So we're scheduling his wisdom teeth out next week, shopping for suits/bike on Monday, finish up his finals on the 19th and the following week on the 24th go into the MTC.  Yesterday, we went to the bountiful temple and Spencer received his endowment.  Brandon and Ashley were witness couple.  Dan/Jill, Deanne, and Frank were able to attend.  It was a very special ocassion.  What a wonderful thing to watch your children grow up in the gospel! 

 

Today whilst the women folk went to a bridal shower, we men folk did the manly thing and drove to Larry Miller Race way to watch motorcycles go 170+ mph!!  What a rush.  We were standing next to the track--about 10 feet from passing bikes.  I posted a clip on The Grant Clegg Family facebook.    Then we drove by and looked at Pete's airplane and came home. 

 

Monday we're having family pictures, doing a barbecue, then sending Brandon/Ashley/Talmage back to Texas.  Boo hoo. 

 

Jamie was nominated Senior Class president for Davis High.  Allyse had here music concert on Thursday night.  It was a hoot.

Cami's Senior Recital

On Friday, May 22, friends and family of Cambria Hunter were treated to an evening of music and dance as she performed her senior solo French horn recital. The audience enjoyed several classical selections including Mozart and pieces from other difficult composers. But the evening included more than just horn! Cambria entertained with her cousin Joshua Littlefield in a couples dance that rivaled this weeks finale of Dancing with the Stars. The croud then enjoyed a Cami freestyle solo dance number along with twirling by Cami and two of her friends. Cambria then surprise the crowd with a beautiful piano solo composed by John Schmidt and followed it up with a horn duet of "Oh How Lovely Was the Morning"--an expression of her testimony of the Restoration. Truely she's a person of many talents and has a rare ability to imbue each selection with deep feeling. All who attended were entertained as well as uplifted.

Peter's Week

Busy  week! Nice weekend last in Idaho where I helped Don and kids as we worked on the yard and garden.  Driving home I was coming into Smithfield when these two guys cut in front of me and and romped on the gas.  There was billowing smoke, loud noises and suddenly oil and engine parts flying around me! Fortunately I only got oil on my car. They ended up by the side of the road with a puddle of oil under the car.  Nice to have Dad and Mom here for a couple of days.  I didn't get to see them much as I went to California for work.  Interesting trip meeting with CW and ABC.  On the way back from lunch we had a chance to walk through the set of General Hospital.  A big warehouse with an isle down the middle and several sets on each side.  The start at one set, film all the scenes in that set, then move to the next one.  At night, a crew comes in and takes down the sets and brings in the next several.  Beyond the scene hall is a staging area with sets stacked up on little carts for several weeks.  Then, beyond that is a big shop where the sets are all made.  Pretty intersting what a science and process goes into making something like that.

Friday night we started working on the house make over for the wedding reception with the planting of several hundred flowers.  Got up and did more plus planted the vegetable garden and put in sprinklers for the garden.  Then went up and worked to very late on the airplane.  Hopefully, it's about there! A wonderful Sunday and Spencer just stopped by and great to visit with him.  This week, the Move UK guys are here in town and I'm in back to back meetings every day but hopefully we'll come out with a good strategy.

Hi All;

Just wanted to upload these cool pics of Shannon/Nikki and their Triathlon. It was in American Fork. Swim 300 meters, bike 12.8 miles, run 3.2 miles, sleep 10 hours. We're so proud of them both for training and accomplishing such a feat. I get tired just looking at the pictures.

Spencer is home again this weekend getting his temple recommend so we can go through the Bountiful temple this Friday at 5:30pm. Pretty exciting. Our neighbor lady just told us here grandson from Nashville got called to Long Beach mission, spanish speaking and goes into the MTC same day as Spence. His birthday is 2 days after Spencer's!

Hello family,   Here's some of the latest drama on the Littlefields:   Amanda had her year end choir concert last night.  She did a great job.  It was Mr. Blackburn's last concert before retirement.  He has been a legend for years.  It is crazy to see time pass so quickly.   Josh attended his last High School date dance this past week.  He and Joe doubled for prom.  They had a great time.    Erica turned 13.  We now officially have 6 teenagers and 4 of them drive!  Pray for us all!    Melissa turned sweet 16.  We had a big bash for her at the cabin.  The guys stayed late, and the girls stayed the night.  It was a lot of fun.  Melissa deserved it, she is still sweet at 16.  I'm pretty sure we're going to have to beat back the mobs of young men however because she is beautiful!   Enjoy the pictures.   Love,   Littlefields

• Kayla ran 200 meter sprint, worked at Training Table, helped at Princess Birthday Party, ditto on band
• Paisley made 2 dozen Chocolate chip cookies for friends and delivered them, finished reading "Every Soul a Star"
• Alyssa got new glasses, weeds and waters garden daily, plays with Thunder the rat
• Andrew plays in the sand box, has learned to be gentle with the rat, picked out 8 construction books at the library
• Mindy accompanies on walks, barks at gophers and chases the quail out of the yard
• Thunder is a very patient rat

Peter's Week

I slept for 10 hours last night! It's been a busy week.  There's a crush to get the two companies merged so I was busy the first part of the week doing an audit of all the things that our engineers are working on.  Tuesday a group of us flew to LA to meet with Fox.  The meetings weren't actually until Thursday but we spent some time working at Mike's house (he's a Move employee that works out of his home in Long Beach).  Anywhere there's internet connection or cell phone coverage, we're online working so it doesn't really matter where you're at.  Mike has a sail boat so for the afternoon, we played hooky and went out sailing.  It was a beautiful day (a little on the chilly side) but a great and relaxing time.  We went out from Long Beach harbor and once beyond the barrier got into some rollers.  No one got sick.  Then back along the beach to watch the kite surfers.  Hit a great Thai restaurant for dinner.  Meetings on the Fox lot in Hollywood... Kind of fun.  The buildings and offices are right off the Fox sets so it's like an old city down one alley and a western town down another.  Meetings went ok.  We have a lot to do if we want to keep their business and with the new company we bought, there's debate if we want to keep it or not.  A difficult position to be in as they need our service but we need to give it more attention.

A nice flight home Thursday night and a very full day on Friday.  Meetings right up to 4:30 when I left with the scouts to hike up to the yurt in Mill Creek Canyon.  We had done it before but cross country skied in.  This time, it was to be mostly road but turned out to be mostly slushy snow.  Two and a half hours in light rain but the yurt was warm and dry. When we got ready to leave, it was raining and only came down harder as we left.  A continuous downpour for the two hour hike out and everyone was like drowned rats! But, a memorable activity to be sure.  I came home, washed the car, hit the hot tub and then was asleep by the time my head hit the pillow!

Today we had a nice church, choir practice, helped a neighbor with his computer, a scout with merit badges, a nap and then we had the Merkley's over for a lovely dinner.  Jessica made great dinner of chicken pesto pasta, fruit and salad.  And here we are to this minute....
