Hi everyone;

We’ve been AWOL the past couple of weeks from blog.  Very busy here at the Steven/Shannon home.  Last weekend I went to Idaho with Dan/David/Tyler/Jordan/Allyse while we worked on the house for mom/dad.  It was very fun figuring out how to use every little piece of sheet rock.  Good luck to those who do the mudding;-) 

Our big news this week is Spencer graduated!  Hard to believe our little Spencer is now out on his own!   The graduation was pretty fun and from the pictures (sorry about the quality, we forgot our camera and used cell phones instead) Spencer had lots of girls who wanted pictures with him before they all went their separate ways. 

The house is full of sewing machine noise while Jamie/Shannon sew their outfits for Trek.  Spencer and his buddies are headed to LA on Monday for a week for their senior trip.  My boss was gracious enough to let me fly down with them and work from LA.  I will need to accompany them to Magic Mountain and Huntington Beach (proper parenting). 

Jordan went on a 5 mile hike this morning for scouts.  All the kids are kicking back now that school is out.

Our big news this week is that Mckelle is graduating.  Attached is her announcements which includes a piece of artwork that she drew for her senior AP art project.  She has been through some rough times, and we're very proud of her.  Consider this your announcement and invitation to attend if you would like.

Peter's Week

Hair on fire... that's my week this week.  I keep hoping that I'll be able to go more than a day or so without wondering if I'm going to have to quit--or get fired.  I think I ponder on that question every day...at least every day except one in the last three weeks!  Big product launch was supposed to happen on Tuesday - my first product launch since I've been here.  Actually THE first product launch since I've been here and they are supposed to happen every three weeks! Anyway, just getting ready to roll with a major customer that will probably update in the neighborhood of 25 million viewers and another customer calls in a panic saying the new plug-in breaks their site and if it rolls, it will kill all their viewers.  Lots and lots of hair on fire running around.  But tonight, looking like it may be ok...dodged another bullet but not sure how many lives we have.  Today we were in a meeting and it was brought up that the problem may be with the customer's site, not our product so I suggested we all have a moment of silence and importune your deity of choice that it would be the customer's fault and not ours. Crazy times! Heading to LA to one of the studios again tomorrow.

Saturday did some painting in the upstairs bath and bed.  A knock was at the door and here were three little munchkins and their mommy.  Attached are a couple of pictures of one of them.  Pretty darling! Also had a chance to go to dinner with the Germanns as Eric was here already to check into the MTC today.  His really good friend Justin was there and he just got his call to Carlsbad, CA so right next door to Eric.


SO LOVE THE NICE WEATHER.  Last night was just beautifully warm as I walked the neighborhood.  So nice to lay in bed with the windows open during the night and feel the canyon breeze.  Such a blessing the pleasant things. 

Will be doing drywall this weekend at the ranch.  If you want, come on over (if you can afford the gas!).

Dear Family,

   Sorry we have responded for a while.  I never get on the computer anymore because I am so busy.  Don't have any extra minutes.  We have had lots going on to fill you in.  First Joshua made Chamber qhoir and Joseph made acapella.  They both will be traveling back east next year so they already have jobs lined up!  Joshua went to Prom.  We will put the pictures on. Melissa just made the dance team at school and tried out with Joshua whom made it also.  She is excited.  She also just received her Patriarchal Blessing. She has a job lined up this summer also. She just went to 9th grade prom last weekend.  She looked beautiful.  Joseph is handsome as ever and keeps us all grounded and happy.  Amanda and Erica are growing like crazy and have fun with their friends.  Kelly is helping me teach my busy sunbeams and is cute with the kids.  She is planning on going to SUU this fall and has her apt. She has done great finishing out her senior year.  We are very pround of her.

Shane and I are tired as usual. getting old does that to you or maybe wait, having 6 teenagers might do that to you!  We love you all are praying for you and your sweet families.  love, Amy

Branding & Destruction

Dear Family,
Just a few words and some pictures.  What a weekend!  Thanks to everyone who came to the ranch and helped brand all the little calvies and then stay to help with the gutting of the house. It was a lot of work and dirty but so many hands helped us accomplish a lot and get ready for the next phase.  I slept really good last night! Our next day will be over Memorial Day weekend and we'll be doing drywall. 

For those who haven't heard, Riley Mickelson was killed on Sunday in a tractor accident.  I had just talked to him a couple of weeks ago before his brother Lawrence's funeral.  Also, Merrill Lloyd passed away and his funeral is on Friday.  He had been in ill health for a while.  Lots of transfers in the last few months.

Hello everyone;

Well, today is mother’s day and we’re all glad Shannon was able to speak in church.  She did a great job and Howard and Deanne showed up for church and for dinner.  Dan and Jill stopped by church also. 

The week started with Spencer online for 3 hours trying to get his BYU housing lined up.  He is rooming with his cousin Marcus Tanner and a neighbor, Tyler Hampton.  Spencer got a call from a lady who’s sprinklers weren’t working.  After spending some time fiddling around we discovered that her breaker was kicked out and the timer box wasn’t getting power.  We discovered this by using my trusty volt meter..heh, heh.

We went to Idaho and my daughters are getting way to adept at neutering calves.  They seem to relish in the challenge.  Stanley took Shannon and I for a tour around his farm.  We went to ponds called Lake Enterprise and the Black Sea..which was very blue.  It was fun to talk with him again.  We missed Don and Greshen, but sounds like they were in Pocatello.  Paula and Gordon came by and we spent some time ripping out grandma great’s house to make way for remodel.

Hi everyone;

 

Just checking in with everyone to give you the news of our family.  This past week was stacked full of kid activities including Jamie’s last lacrosse game at Olympus.  She played varsity and JV.  We spent 4 hours cheering for Woods Cross.  I have to say it’s been really fun watching Jamie widen her circle of friends to nearby high schools.  Girls on the Woods Cross lacrosse team are from Viewmont, Layton, Davis, Bountiful, and Woods Cross high. I’ve included pictures of Jamie at the lacrosse game with her friend Whitney Hyde.  And Tyler/David/Jordan riding their rip-sticks on the top row of bleachers at the lacrosse game.  Oh, and Allyse riding a rip-stick in 4 in heels.  That’s pretty amazing!

 

 Tyler’s team won again yesterday. He kicked a curve kick from the left side of the field right past the goalie and into the corner of the net.  It was poetry in motion. 

 

Shannon was asked to speak in church for Mother’s day.  It’s been pretty chilly around here because she isn’t really feel enamored with the idea of speaking about motherhood.  Anyway, I’ve offered to have the kids write her talk or throw together some quotes off the internet;-)   (later)  Dan and Jill came over for dinner. We had a great time eating ham and rice.  Then Frank and Melissa came over with their little baby.  He looks like a Gerber baby.  Very cute.  Anyway, that’s all we did for the week.  We had stake conference and Pres Eyring and Elder Bednar spoke.  What a great set of talks.  The message was very encouraging for us to keep on doing the small things every day to reach the celestial kingdom.

Peter's Week

Well...another busy week.  Good news in that we got a product out of testing.  Watch for full screen coming to a Move Networks site near you.  BYU.TV will probably be the first and hopefully be Wednesday or so.  I've been interviewing new writers and hired another product manager this week and also trying to focus on my new responsibility of end to end services (since we are a services company). At about 8 last night, the request came in for an emergency paper for the CTO of CinemaNow to take to Korea on Monday so I scrambled and wrote one.  In the old days, that would have cost them about $1500...now I do it for free on the weekend!
Weekend was good in that I painted the upstairs bathroom.  Finally got a color that I liked...it's a dark reddish brown and looks pretty good...makes all the white stand out.  I went on a short bike ride Saturday and that was very nice. It was fun to Skype with Mom as I also got to see Joe's owie and talk to Kai and Maniah and Dani.  Hoping that Mom and Dad can get everything fixed that needs fixing like the Satellite and Cadillac. 
David Webb moved out yesterday as he got accepted to Pharmacy school at ISU in the fall and is moving down to BYU for the summer to maybe take advantage of being closer to women than he was here in the monastery. Anna and Steve came to stay on Thursday and Friday night and it was great to have them for a couple of days.  Anna's team did very well at the track meet and Steve was writing a paper for one of his classes. 
Well, as summer is coming on (I hiked up to Johnson's Bowl this morning and it was beautiful), I hope you all are enjoying the spring and the opportunity of summer.  And you kids that are getting ready to graduate (Zan, Spencer, Kelly), it's an exciting time!
