Birthdays!

Wednesday night was Amy's 50th!!! It started out as an intimate group of about 7 of us and I was thinking, "There will be leftovers and this will be done early!" Guests were encouraged to dress old so Amy would feel young...the word didn't get out that it was just the young people that were to dress old. Steve and Ruth were there with Steve in liesure pants and a cane. Then here came Michael and Andrew and pretty soon, we heard Paula's voice in the hall with Anna, Francie and Larsen.  Dan and Jill showed up and Kelly and Nick and the party was soon at a respectable level--talking a hundred miles an hour!  Bishop Johnson showed up with a cane and a geriatric diaper. A great time had by all and Happy 50th!!! to Amy.  (see the shots).

AND...happy 51st birthday to Daniel Winder and Kent Robinson today! Dan said Jill made a cake with 51 candles on it and it was putting of a lot of heat. All the best in the coming year!

The weekend has been Church so far.  Friday night, worked on the ward picture directory for a couple of hours and finally gave up after making three different versions from imports and all had compatibility problems.  Have to think of something else. The leadership training this morning on the new handbook was good.  Was interesting to see how much technology has been integrated into instructing a worldwide organization.  Looking forward to seeing some of it online again.

Cycling has been good this week.  I did it at home today so to get out, stopped by Amy's and we went for an airplane ride.  I'd left the master switch on by accident so had to jump it to get started but we were the only plane in the area and it was a fantastically beautiful evening.  The pictures don't do it justice! The ice over the lake; the sun setting on the mountains; the smooth air; sparking lights of the city....nice flight!
