Fwd: Weekend Update

Dear Family,

Sunday night at 10:30 pm and it has been a very enjoyable weekend--Branding Weekend is always eventful.  It's been raining quite a bit so for this year, Kent moved everything inside the barn over on the corner.  It worked out well as there was dry ground and it was soft instead of rocks.  A good crowed showed up to help with Ben, Alex, Dawson and his friend Nick; Dan, Jill, Erin and David and the McClouds (Kerry and Flint); plus Don, Abbie and Macie plus all the locals.  A little over two hours and one injury (Flint rolled his ankle pretty bad while throwing a calf).  Afterwards, Mignon's Navajo tacos with all the trimmings and cookies from Janet and Jill.  Indeed, a good time was had by all!!!

Idaho is just spectacular--even in the rain! I flew up Friday morning as I had taken the day off from work.  In the evening, there was some sun in the golden hour and the number of shades of green was innumerable.   Dad and Mom are getting along.  Mom has had an infection in her foot and is using crutches but making the best of it.  Dad was on his tractor, feeding the chickens and gathering and cleaning eggs.  There was a stream of visitors which they were happy to see and were very pleased to meet one of their latest little great grandsons, Troy Alexander Doxy.

We have all been praying fervently for Sister Hunter and just learned that she will probably be out of the hospital tomorrow in Moscow and will return to her apartment to recuperate for a few days--they think she is going to recover ok and will watch carefully.  We are putting our faith in D&C 84:71 - "And if any man shall administer poison unto them it shall not hurt them."

Last night after branding, we went to the hot pots in Lava and then for ice cream--really felt good! Today the home teachers came and Miss Howard, the music teacher from the school, joined us and we sang hymns and had more ice cream.  All in all a very nice day and so nice to see and visit with so many family and friends this weekend.

Here are a few shots from the day.  I'll send a video a little later after it uploads to YouTube.

Love,
Peter
