Thanks Peter for the Great update! Congratulations, Jamie and Alex! And congratulations Leesie on your mission call to the Phillipines! That area was assigned to the elders when I was there.
"Life on the farm never did us no harm."
The crops are coming in one by one. Grain, then hay, and corn, beets and potatoes next. November will be the completion date for the last crop.
Pumpkin Party invites are out and about. Thanks for all your RSVP's that have already come back. We are looking forward to seeing each of you.
I'm heading to Northern Idaho is a few minutes to spend time with Kendrick and Megan, Jennie and George. Megan who is expecting their 3rd baby had her appendics taken out last week and is still recovering.
Boston and I came across Pocatello's speedway Saturday night. Looking for something to do we paid our $5 and walked into a culture I didn't know existed. Race cars that looked like dead people come up from the grave were racing around a track at full speed. The noise was deafening as people passively sat scattered around on the bleachers watching passively. Some were drinking beer and others cheering for one car or another. As soon as one group of cars careened into through the side gate like rodeo steers after a roping, another set of cars came lurching out full throttle from another gate starting another race. Boston turned to me after we'd left and asked, "Are they crazy? Or are we crazy?"
We also met a J.J. and his wife Sandy at the taco van. He shared his story of dying and coming back to life during a serious cancer related illness 6 years ago. "Are you LDS?" he asked before proceeding to tell of going to the other side. "It's beautiful there." he said. "They brought me kicking and screaming back to my body." He said he'd always had a question about God and if there were multiple gods that people worship seeing there were so many religions. When he got to the other side he asked the question and got his answer. From what he observed there are many religions on the other side but they all worship the same god. "Any question you have will be answered." he said. "But be careful what you asked because you may not want to know the answer!." He asked Boston and I if we took care of our bodies. "You only have one body and you have to take care of it. Don't drink or smoke or take drugs!" After this experience goes to the gymn every day and exercises even though he is older (in his 70's). It was an interesting conversation.
Well I must go. I love each of you and look forward to seeing you again.
Congratulations on all the exciting news. Love Paula
