Dear Family,
Missed getting this out Sunday but gathered some news none-the-less! My weekend started with laying on my back underneath the airplane. It's down for maintenance and our stickler mechanic insisted that we needed to degrease the entire under belly of the plane and clean out the wheel wells. I thought it would be an hour job but four hours later, I had to leave it unfinished. Years of oil and dirt accumulated in the wells of the retractable wheels and it needed to be scraped out! It was a gorgeous day though and I enjoyed getting dirty. I later talked to a potential builder for the cottage and he noticed the oil all over my elbows that I didn't get cleaned off!
Sunday was a very nice day! I visited the Fruit Heights ward where I got to sit with the little Clegg boys and girls. Jill gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting with an update on Hailey. She did a wonderful job and told of how a young woman in Scotland had watched the District online and then chatted online with missionaries who told her to go to the church. She did and Hailey was there with her companion to teach her to baptism. After church, we went to Dan & Jill's house for dinner and the young woman (Jade) came to dinner as she is here in America visiting with a family from Bountiful that was living in Scotland. Nice to meet her and her how Hailey is doing.
I also stopped by Frank & Melissa's and toured the new house addition. They just finished their basement with new insulation, electrical, walls, trim and carpet. It's beautiful!!! New furniture for Gavin and Sophia and their own rooms. With the new multi-zone furnace, it's very comfortable and should provide years of shelter for indoor activities.
Then I stopped over to Steve & Shannon's and talked with them. Jamie and Alex came, Spencer was there and Allyse and even got to see Brandon, Ashley and the kids for a few minutes. They are off on an extended adventure to Australia for the next 12-18 months! He will be working on oil and gas projects for Bain.
This week, I've been in Philadelphia for work. Meeting with one of our partners and working out a possible new integration. Two full days of meetings in a tiny conference room but I think we made some progress. We had to drop off a colleague a the train station downtown and got this shot as the sun was setting in the west.
Congratulations to Grandpa and Grandma as they celebrated (sort of) their 59th wedding anniversary this last Tuesday. I understand that they took phone calls and Paula came to visit for the day. Everyone get ready….60th is going to be a big celebration!
