Hi All,
Just a quick update on the weeks events. Work, work, work...but Friday my ToDo list actually had somethings checked off as done which was the first time in three weeks so that felt like progress!
Probably the funnest thing I did all week was test drive one of the Vespa 300 cc scooters. Got it going 78 mph on the frontage road so it could go on the freeway if needed. It was just a spur of the moment thing for lunch and it left me smiling all day. See the pic--what's the vote? Too "far from the farm" to be cool? It's definitely not a Harley!!!
Saturday was a fun day. Dan helped me tear down some shelves in his office that I'm going to put in the shop in Idaho. Afterwards, we rode scooters over to Steve's and then to look at a lot he and Jill are interested in. It's like Frank's in that it borders the creek and is very private. Also got to see the international headquarters for GBI and take the tour. Fun to see that old bull head skeleton hanging in Dan's office! Also stopped by to and watched Gavin, Sophie and Andrew try out the new zip line that Grandma Homer sent them while Ryan climbed the tree house--such cute kids!
Ben turned 50 this week and so did my friend Willy--they are born on the same day. Willy's wife Kristy threw a surprise party for him at the Cedar's of Lebanon restaurant in Salt Lake and we had a delightful time. There were about 12 of us and the place brought back memories of when Willy, Coleman and I were in Morocco for Novell. Carpets, gargantuan plates of food, hookahs, music and dancing (not us...). Great to catch up.
Monday was a big day for two families as their dads graduated from college--great job Kendrick and Brandon!!! Kendrick and Megan await the arrival of their newest family member and Brandon, Ashley, Talmage and Tanner are off to Colombia to lean more Spanish!
Sunday was more food as I did Thai dinner for the Hulmes and some mutual friends. I'm so full right now! Slipped home to take some shots of the eclipse and then just got this photo from Frank--darling and I laughed so hard!!!
Sorry to miss Wyatt's farewell...hope it went well and look forward to seeing him before he goes into the MTC.
Love you all!
