Another shot of now Elder Sean on the day of his farewell. He's in the MTC now and headed to the San Bernardino, CA mission. A good day here at the Orem house with friends, family, pasta, salad and Oreo cakeballs!!!
I've been in Idaho twice in the last month and enjoyable both times if not a little on the chilly side. The first time was burning day and I torched the two big piles of branches that I had; Kai and Joe were learning how to start a fire and practiced in a pile of construction debris near the house. The phone rang to see if the Clegg Mansion was on fire--turned out to be Stanley and this shot of smoke is his doing later on in the day.
We also attended the Grace High School production of Calamity Jane where Kiana played the part of an Indian. Fun show and several of Mom's piano students had leads. It was fun to see the kids transform the stage into a frontier saloon and carry off the night with convincing performances and fun music. Greshen was part of the live orchestra that accompanied them.
We also worked on getting the ground ready for planting and put together the Lifetime box garden for Grandmother. She had made french bread but according to her, got a little too much oil on the dough while kneading so it didn't stick when rolled and left air holes. It still tasted great!!!
This week has been busy for me. HireVue has settled on an investment company for the next round of funds which is good. I also closed on a town home in Day Break (South Jordan) that I purchased out of foreclosure. Hoping to get it rented in the next couple of weeks. It's hardly been lived in and would be fun to live there if I didn't live in Orem!
The shot of the mountains was yesterday morning from the back yard. There was a dusting of snow during the night (temps below freezing!) and it was beautiful. I spent the day raking up branches from the willow tree, trimming shrubs and hedges, mowing the lawns, discing my little pasture hoping to be lawn for camping and soccer and then helping Kent and Flint ditch the stream up to Collins Canyon. Today...I'm sore!
Just want you all to know you're welcome to use the place in Idaho. Grandpa and Grandma would really have like to come to the blessing of little Cecily today. It's harder to travel but they do enjoy having anyone come up in small numbers to visit.
Speaking of Cecily, it was a wonderful day with the Frank & Melissa Clegg family. A special blessing, and well attended by the Clegg side. Every family but Don and Amy were there at some point. Jill said that when all the uncles got up to help bless her, it was a bunch of old gray haired men! Still, fun to see everyone and enjoy all the company. Thanks to Frank & Melissa for hosting us and letting us enjoy their beautiful little family!
