Pumpkin Party Hearty 2012

Sunday evening and still basking in the warmth of a wonderful day yesterday at Webb Basin Dairy amongst family and friends--an awesome day! Still pretty full too!!!  Don't have a lot of time but wanted to get what few shots I took posted and to say thanks to everyone that was able to make the trip and made it so enjoyable.  Here are a few of the highlights for me.

Spencer and I cruising up the Raft River valley only a few hundred feet off the ground at 180 m.p.h. in the Mooney intent on surprise buzzing the house only to see everyone in a circle on the back side of the house intently studying something on the ground.  Turns out one of the college guests had shattered his foot in a motorcycle accident and our flyby was rather ill timed!

Seeing the large pot of fresh cooked spuds, corn, carrots, cabbage, ham and brats dumped out on the table to feed the hungry swarms of people.

Cranking the masher on the apple cider press while kids dropped in apples that were shredded to mush.  Then Kendrick cranking down the press and watching the fresh clear juice trickle into the cider tub.  That was delicious--especially with the freshly fried doughnuts with sugar maple sauce!!!

Hearing about Don's trip to Tuscon to accept the Monsanto Manufacturing Excellence award - only given to 1% of people in the company. Congratulations again!

Playing football!!! I'm a little sore but not near as sore as others I'll bet.  Always a good time and everyone played! The clouds, lighting and the valley were absolutely beautiful!

Boston flying his RC plane into the tree, and Kai and Joe climbing up to get it down.

And mostly just seeing everyone.  Missed everyone that couldn't make it but we all realize that all are there in spirit and if not this event, then the next one.

Thanks to Stuart for taking us to AF airport this morning in the 42 degree chilling wind.  Spence and I flew to Logan and got gas, then on to Provo (after waiting for the Mooney to cool so we could start it again!) and made it in time for church.  Sunny, 63 and calm in Provo!

Love,
Peter
