product managers turned a 17 page document of business requirements
into 150 pages of product requirements. We now officially have world
domination defined...now someone just has to build it. Anyway, it was
nice spend some time actually producing something, even it if it may
only be fiction!
So Saturday morning and the plane still isn't done. I called Tito and
he said, "I'm working on the your plan and I will be done in two
hours." "Can I help you?" I asked. "No." But then about two hours
later he called and said he could use some help so I went out there.
It was cold and the wind was blowing when I arrived. He was just
putting in the radio and we checked out the headphones through the new
intercom (sounded great!) as well as the overhead speakers for both
radios. He still needed to put the rest of the panel back together
but said, "I need to go. I am cold." He's an older fellow from
Ecuador and didn't have a hat or gloves. So we started to pack up and
just about then, this storm from across the lake hit full force and it
was a total white out of hail and snow. It took two of us to get the
cover buttoned up. The runway was only a few hundred yards away and I
couldn't even see it but I heard this jet land! He must have been able
to see the other end of the runway as he came down but by the time he
got to our end, I'm sure they were totally blind. Anyway, Tito's got
an hour left to button it up. Maybe this week...
Earlier in the day, I was up on the ladder cleaning leaves and mud out
of the rain gutter. It had snowed and the cement with leaves was kind
of slick. I had been up and down several times so thought it was ok
but was up there working when all of a sudden, the ladder slid out
from under me! I grabbed the rain gutter with both hands but at 190
and weak upper body strength (plus the rain gutter bent out giving
way), I only hung for a second. The ladder slid back and hit a tree
so stopped before it hit the ground. I fell to the ladder but somehow
managed to hit and roll around the ladder, landing on my feet on the
steps. A bruised forearm and a scrap on my shin were the only after
affects.... pretty darn lucky! (see drawing).
A highlight of the week was going to the BYU basketball game with
Steve, Shannon, Tyler and his buddy Jake. I was fried after the week
and wanted to get out early but didn't make it. Fortunately they
called as I was getting home and watched a well played game on both
sides. Glad for family!
Love,
Peter
