Midsummer Moos

If Change, like the wind, is ever blowing it has blown up a storm this past few days and weeks.  It started in SLC with Steve and Anna moving out of their home in Foothill to prepare for their journey to Lafayette,Indiana where Steve will start pharmacy school in August. After a whirlwind of phone calls video walk-throughsand realitor papers to sign on their new home they will pick up the moving van tomorrow morning and head out early Wednesday with Stuart and Steve's mother for the trek across the plains to the midwest.

And the Webb's are scuttling along the upper plains of the western states on the Mornon trail trek Wednesday.  The ward is caching in on the opportunity to similate the Willey/Martin Handcart company.  I hope all goes well.  While making last minute preparations with the ward I observed this whole event like the original experience is to possibly give us the opportunity to associate with one another and learn to relate. I don't think we are meant to live alone or isolated. The frequent rubbing shoulders with the saints can make us happy and more amiable if we learn the skills to do so.

Jessica is here in Raft River preparing to go with us on the trek as the lone fiddler.  I'm excited!!  Clayton's frequent communications from Afghanistan have been good and we've enjoyed his updates.  Jessica celebrated her 10 year class reunion.

Kendrick and Megan have also been caught up in the winds of change as he graduated from U of I and is now working full time with Tim Eichner, Megan's father in the farming industry. They checked out of their apartment yesterday and will be looking for a more permanent home to live in.

The winds of change also blew Hayden and Madeleine into a new apartment in "the Avenues" of Rexburg a couple of weeks ago. I quote Hayden. "We were going almost non-stop from 9:30 AM till 12:30 AM.  We were graced with some unexpected visitors around 11:00 AM.  Don, Greshen, and Family stopped by in their mini van to say hi and help out.  They jumped in and made a big dent in the moving process.  We were like the Hollywood Hillbillies going through Rexburg.  Grant kept assuring us that we were definitely moving in "Clegg" fashion.  We had a mattress balancing on the top of the minivan while Macey sat on piled up blankets, box springs, and pads inside the car.  Seat belts signs were disregarded for the special event.  Finishing up finals this week at BYU-I they will be somewhat moving to Bozeman, Montana where he'll work an internship with a company in the landscape business for several weeks before returning to school.  They are doing well having

Boston is swathing occasionally , attending football camp, basketball tournaments and golf scrambles trying to hold steady in the relentless change of life.  What ever happened to  work from sun-up to sun-down.

Elder Larsen is enjoying his mission.  If enjoying means worhard work. He sends great letters and pictures from Oaxaca, Mexico.  His dreams have converted over to Spanish. Doesn't this make him a full fledged Mexican missionary?  His email address is larsen.webb@mylds.net .  Letters sent through the mail are hard to reach him.  He encourages emails and will enjoy hearing from from you.

The farm and dairy are doing well.  The grain, sugar beets, hay and corn are growing with the heat and moisture.  Walking around the dairy this morning with Steve, Anna, Jessica and little Francie, I observed Cesar running the loader as it scoops up corn and meal to put in the mixer wagon.  He is a 3rd generation employee, grandson of Agusto who came across the border illegally in the early 1970's. Impressively they are all either American citizens or legal now.

My highlights of the week...Kent calling from the freeway a few miles from the house on his way back to Grace from Jerome with a load of trees.  Jessica and I met him at the off ramp with a lunch and light conversation.

The next day Steve (brother) called on his way to Burley to pick up some equipment for his company.  Jessica and I met him at the Upper Crust above the Gossner Cheese store near the river.  We enjoyed lunch and catching up.  I love my family.

Stuart just walked in the house from a morning of work on the farm and Gordon has finished preg-checking.  Lunch is imminent so I must go.

I hope you are doing well despite the unpredictable breezes that may blow through your life.  It's off to fix lunch and enjoy our last hours with Anna and Steve and Francie before they are blown to the east on their next adventure.

I love you all.   Paula
