Quite the week for many in the family! Here's what we know...
Jamie and Allyse got home from Europe! Haven't heard details of the trip but everyone is glad they are home safe and sound. I'll bet it was a happy reunion for Spence and Jamie who haven't seen each other for three years!
Greshen turned 40! And we celebrated with dutch oven veggies, BBQ meat and some awesome salads. First time I've ever seen pictures of Greshen as a child and there are shots where you can see each of her kids--in her. Cleggs are not great at expressing feelings but we are very grateful to Greshen and the joy, comfort and fun that she has brought to our family. Grandma wasn't feeling up to going but Grandpa went as he really wanted to express his appreciation for all she does. I should have gotten a picture of the birthday girl but only got this of the kids on the hammocks!
There was a major (and fortunately not fatal or too destructive) fire in the hills behind Don's house. Kent happened to come through town about the time it was going up so called Don and the two of them raced over and helped battle flames for several hours. Those years of dried Juniper needles inches deep were almost as flammable as gasoline! See Don't new boots where the heat completely melted the adhesive that held the soles on.
The Webbs added to the birthday party as they stopped on their way back from the ward youth trek in Martin's Cove. Sounds like they had a good adventure with lots of sun (thank goodness no rain, snow or storm). Boston was one of the youth and Jessica followed along as the camp fiddler.
News on the farm...David & Jordan have been working on the ranch with Kent and Flint all week. Kent is getting ready to take a bunch of scouts and leaders on a pack trip with horses this next week. I went up Thursday evening and spent a couple of days--weather and the sky were absolutely fantastic! Took several shots but just can't capture it. Great to see the kids enjoying summer with a mix of work and swimming--just like when were kids!
Great to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma. Mom has had bursitis in her foot so was working her way around on a crutch to keep weight off it. Both her and Dad just keep going. I was happy that we were all able to go on a motorcycle adventure. I had my scooter with Mom and Dad rode his little mini-bike. We first rode over to Hubbard's and then back to Owen's corner and then all the way to Niter (check out the new sign!). We rode in circles around the church parking lot and then over the Bailey's where we bought chocolate milk and candy bars then ate them near the church BBQ pit before riding home. As we sat there, the county sherif drove by--good think we were off the main road and parked as none of us had licenses! A short trip but a sweet time :B Here's a video (trying edit on YouTube so not sure how it came out...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC4n0jJRyZ4
Check out Grandma's new counter-top composter! She can put scraps and peelings in here on the counter before Grandpa takes it to the next stage in the process--out to the compost pit!.
Also, a few shots from the Hunter Grandma Camp. This year they produced the play Peter Pan and Andrew was one of the lost boys. Check out Paisley's jean designs--hand stitching from girls camp. Very nice!
