Peter's Weeks...

Been  while since I wrote...not a lot new to report but have had good week with Mom at my casa.  Last weekend, I went up and worked on more electrical on their house.  Thought I was done pretty much and then discovered that the water heater was 220 volts and I needed to run a new wire for it. Anyway, Mom came back with me for a couple of days of rest and relaxation.  Amy and Ginny came and spent some time and they shopped for cabinets and flooring.  Saturday we left to come home and stopped at IKEA to browse their stuff, then stopped for a good visit with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Sam.  Then on to Frank and Melissa's for a few minutes, getting home at about 10:30 p.m. to find Dad here writing in his journal.

Everything is so beautiful here.  Alfalfa is nicely packed into hay animals all uniformly standing in the fields.  We've had a wonderful day with the little kids, good food and visiting.  The worldwide broadcast on the family was shown for the second two meetings of church.  Just as President Monson was about to talk, Ross Harris got up and announced, "We're ending here.  Primary children are roaming the halls and that's pretty scary!"  It was a good meeting and I enjoyed the perspective.  I thought that I was a little glad I wasn't in my home ward where I might have stood out more (didn't notice much slack given to single brethren) and here no one would notice--and then Ross called on me to give the closing prayer. What was nice was that I felt grateful that I had been and am part of a family where family really has been the most important thing and that for the most part, careers, money (too much or too little), possessions, leadership or worldliness haven't been as important or as central family has. My siblings are all wonderful parents and Dad and Mom have only ever had what the family proclamation specifies as an objective.

I'm now on vacation... will work on the house (and hopefully finish the electrical) tomorrow and then Tuesday, Mark Andreason and I are going to Jackson to hopefully summit Grand Teton.  We have a couple of days of climbing training and then will be guided on to the top.  He called over to check on our reservations and they guy said, "Oh, you're the two 52-year olds!" Hope we make it!  Then back for a day or so on the house and over to Scout Camp at Bear Lake on Camp Hunt. Looking forward to that...wish I had a Hobie Cat to play on for the days that I'm there!

Love to all!
Peter
