news from the farm

A tisket a tasket, I and my multi-colored basket, grandpa and his bright yellow trike in the deep blue pickup all went down to the river, not to swim but I to watch the majestic trumpeter swans, the Canadian geese and ducks and Grandpa, all decked out in his new mittens and my face shield, to pedal his way from the cheese factory to the old Thatcher church site.  As I pulled off the road and grabbed the binoculars to get a better view of the swans, all sixty or so, flapping their giant wings, rose from the river in unison accompanied by their smaller friends the Canadian geese. I dropped the binoculars and reached for the camera but being the novice that I am, alas, I had forgotten to check the battery!!  It's like the fish that got away.  It would have been a spectacular shot.  Oh well, another day.  The view of snow covered Soda Peak and Sherman was stunning and again maybe another day.
Grandpa was in bed by 8:00pm but will probably be ready to go again tomorrow if the weather permits so I better get to bed so I'll be rested.  You can be assured that the camera battery is charging and will be ready to go.
Thanks to all for a wonderful Christmas.  So many fond memories and kindnesses shown to us.  We love you all so dearly and pray for your joy and happiness.      The triking, biking old people.
