Hi everyone;
This past week was pretty eventful. First we headed for St George after
church last Sunday. The drive down was very relaxing--as always--and we
got to the hotel around 10:30. Jamie drove most of the way to finish
getting her prerequisite hours before she can get a drivers license.
Then Spencer took over and the rest was a blur because of how fast he
was driving and the torrential rain. Next day we got up and headed to
Zions to hike the Narrows. It was sunny and beautiful but a 30% chance
of rain. We were a little anxious heading up the canyon. Every time we
asked a park ranger if we should continued, they started talking in
lawyer speak about "use your best judgment...look at the whether
reports...we can't advise on your safety." Liability avoidance must
part of park ranger training now. Anyway, you can see from the pictures
that we were hiking in muddy water the entire time. It was still fun
and the kids didn't hesitate to jump in over their heads. Monday night
we got back to the hotel and Deanne was there. We all showered and
headed to Tuacahn theater to watch Sound of Music. The open theater was
hot and bugs were everywhere but the talent was unbelievable and my kids
are still whistling tunes from the musical a week later. Tuesday, we
did some golf at South Gate and then packed up to get home for Jamie's
date. She drove the entire way home. Shannon and her mother went on to
Las Vegas to make presentations at the International Lactation
conference. Sounds like they did a great job and are considered rock
stars in the breast feeding world. The rest of us went about our daily
activities this week until Shannon got home late last night. Friday
morning I got the boys up and we went and did 9 holes across the highway
at Davis Golf. It's truly fun to hang with my boys. Wish Brandon lived
closer so we could come with us. for more entertaining video, check out
Spencer's swimming pool antics. That one dive me makes doing a cork
screw is pretty cool. He had his 18th birdthday on Friday and there
were kids coming and going from 8pm to midnight at our house. It was a
lot of fun. Spencer has some pictures he can upload.
That's all for now.
