Hi Everyone;
Sorry it's been so long. This past few weeks have been very busy. Has
summer started yet? Oh yeah, it's over half done now. I've included
some pictures of our trip to Hayden Lake Idaho with the Rietz family.
They drove up from Lewiston and brought their jet skis. We rented a
cabin right on the lake with a private dock. Thanks again to John and
Michele for bringing their family and jet skis. Jamie drove the jet ski
while I was on the tube. She spun the tube around so fast that when I
hit the water it tore my sandals completely in two. Awesome!
In the medical news, I had my nose worked on today. They fixed a
deviated septum and took out a bone spur and also found a couple of
trolls in my left nostril. Just kidding about the trolls. The last
time my nose felt like this was the first day of baseball practice when
I was 8. The blood stains on my old mitt are still visible.
Tyler and Jordan are up at the cabin with Shannon's mom last night and
tonight. They spent Monday and Tuesday at John Beck's football camp
down at Provo High. Tuesday night when they got back was pretty
exciting to hear them describe in great detail all their drills and
which BYU players they got to hang with. Tyler won the Punt, Pass, and
Catch contest for his age. Chip off the old block. I still have some
angst about winning that contest 38 years ago with steel toed work
shoes. But hey, that was the only pair I had at the time that wasn't
manure stained.
Jamie turned 16 a couple of weeks ago and then left for Lake Powell with
the neighbors. She had to fly up to Hayden Lake alone because she came
a day later than we did. Thanks Hayley for dropping her off and picking
up at the airport.
Kudos to Brandon and Ashley for moving me closer to the moniker
"grandpa." I look like a grandpa but seriously need to mature more
before the baby arrives. I've simplified my goals to attain by my 50th
birthday in November: Lose weight; grow up. Who needs Dr Phil.
Well, I had a very special experience tonight with Spencer using his
priesthood to give me a blessing. The spirit was very strong. What a
joy to have such wonderful kids! They have their mother in them for sure.
