It's 3 a.m. I made the mistake of going down for a Sunday nap at 7 p.m. and have now been awake since 12:45 a.m. Oh well.... at least I got a nap which really felt good! This week has been... pretty good. Coming back from vacation on a Monday is difficult...you have to bear down for a whole week but by Friday, things were looking up a little. I was given two tasks the first week there; one was overlays and the other was performance statistics. Both should have take 3-4 weeks but this week, we finally got cuts at both. The overlays don't work very well but at least we know where we need to improve. The stats are very good and the engineer that worked on them is excellent.
In other news, I got my little scratches and dents in my truck fixed. A Latino in Shane's ward came to my work, picked it up and returned it a day later--completely detailed and all dents out--for half the price of the other bid I got. Feels good to get those reminders of my mistakes removed! Saturday, I had a good day. Mowed my lawn for therapy and then continued painting my bedroom. At Rachel's suggestion, I did the entire thing in a dark blue and it looks very nice...I like it! Now, on to the rest of the house! Afterwords, I went for a bike ride. I've had two flats this week and so I rode my mountain bike which was fun to get on again. I rode up the water tower road and got to the high trail just as the sun had gone down and all of the lights were one--it was a magical time of day with the light and so warm and pleasant. I just laid on a cement cistern and watched it get dark. Riding down was a little hairy but I made it.
One highlight of the week was going to the debutant gala as Mckayla's escort. It was fun to present here and then to dance afterwords and to watch all of the kids having a good time. The picture is included above.
