Peter's Week

Quick update as it's already Monday (thoroughly enjoyed conference weekend in Idaho so didn't write!).

Monday through Wednesday off to Chicago for a HireVue sales meeting and trade show.  Very impressed with the great sales team that has been put in place and the level of professionalism.  Monday afternoon got in town and headed for a deep dish Chicago pizza (huge!).  Tuesday, met all day in the 36th floor "Chicago Board of Trade" conference room atop the Hyatt Regency hotel (see pic) then to another pizza place.  One of the sales guy' dad was lead singer for Cheap Trick (80's band?) and he owns a pizza place that used to be an old shoe factory.  Pretty good pizza with one at the end that was made of chocolate sauce! Wednesday was the trade show (HR Tech) so spent the day getting a feel for all the vendors in this new space. A little different as so many of the people at this show were really nice! Other shows, people are nice but it's all about positioning and deals but people here, coming from Human Resources, are more about the individual so seemed to want to just talk more.  Anyway good show.  Chicago was absolutely gorgeous as far as weather--kind of unusual.  Home late Wednesday, in office Thu and Fri and then headed home to Idaho for the weekend with some box springs and a new mattress.  Number of beds (or mats) now available at the house can sleep 18! But only one bathroom.

Anyway, it was a wonderful family weekend with Dan & kids, Steve & Shannon & kids, Don & Greshen & kids and many of the Webbs.  We streamed conference over the computer (using Adobe--not Move technology....was that the official end to Move?) and had it echoing from cars and radios as we sat around inside and outside of the house.  Great meals provided by Shannon, Greshen and Paula and so wonderful to spend time with Mom and Dad.  Afterwards, we walked up the canyon.

Grandma now has her own bicycle, an 8-speed Specialized and she's riding with Grandpa on his trike. Kent and family were in Yellowstone (have to let them tell you about it) for the weekend and showed up just as I left.  Joe and Kai had a great time so it was a success.  Thankful for such wonderful weather!
