Today is beautifully fall. I wish this had been the weekend of the Pumpkin Party! But next week will be fun. Gordon and I discovered a new beach last night. Actually it was the same beach we visited when Don and Greshen were expecting little Emily. If the weather permits, we will take everyone to the beach on Saturday for frisbee golf and s'mores.
After church today in choir practice the choir director turned to "O, Home Beloved" in preparation for Jessica's homecoming for mid-December. The time for her to come home is coming quickly. There are still places I haven't dusted since she left. But what an exciting thought that you are coming home Jessica. I know you will finish well. We're all excited to welcome you home.
How was your week? Harvest is underway here in Raft River. Yesterday Larsen, Boston and I drove Doug's truck over to the potato cellar. Larsen backed the truck up to the piler and one of the workers filled the back of the truck full of brown potatoes straight from the field. Silage trucks, beet trucks and potato trucks were criss-crossing there at the cellar as they were filling silage bags next to the cellar and the beet field was across the road. What a blessing to have good workers and good work to do.
Invitations went out for the Pumpkin Party and I hope you received yours. Larsen has a football game in Gooding at 7 pm that Gordon and Kendrick and anyone else who would like to go. The departure from Raft River is about 5 pm to 5:15 pm. We'll have supper ready here for you who are coming Friday night. The days events will start Saturday about 11 a.m. with races and games. Lunch will be served between 1 and 2 o'clock. We'll be making cinammon rolls and enjoy a Pumpkiniata in the afternoon. If you have any questions give me a call at 208-300-0550.
