Peter's Week

Several good days at work this week.  Wednesday was in LA at Marina Del Rey and met with a company that has put together our technology with theirs to stream 120+ operas from the Metropolitan Opera and has done a fantastic job in building the site. ( I sent a test link to Mom and she said she watched the entire 3 hours or La Boheme in HD over that longhaul wireless connection to the ranch -- that's a good test!).  We've also made progress in getting our stuff working with Microsoft's new Silverlight solution which could (hopefully before the execs destroy the company) make us an acquisition target for Microsoft.  Wouldn't be ideal but would be better than trying for "world domination" on our own! For some reason, the thought that we would become part of a well funded organization (and that the value of my shares may actually not be under water at some point) made me happy and motivated for a couple of days.

The weekend? Pretty much torture... I'm not complaining but I do feel my patience is just running very low when it comes to Scouts.  We had a camporee up at Maple Dell (Payson Canyon--the pics are of that).  I didn't dress quite warm enough and was cold the entire time.  I'm thinking I'm just a wimp as it wasn't near as cold as it could have been.  All the boys except two bailed.  All the activities (lashings, mountain man demonstration, axe throwing, archery) were outside and so we basically stood out in the cold from 5 p.m. on Friday til 1 p.m. on Saturday.  In hind sight, one more layer would have been extremely smart.

Came home and took a hot bath until my fingers and toes came back to life and then painted another bedroom.  The color isn't as nice as I thought it would be (a greenish yellow) and it makes the carpet look really bad but the carpet needs to be changed out anyway.  I'm getting better at this painting stuff...got all the bedrooms done and just work on it a little at a time.  Need to do the laundry next, then the other upstairs bathroom, then the hall, then .... the family, living, entry...then the apartment....then restain the fence and the concrete.... boy, these houses are a lot of work!
