So we are just sitting here in the TV room and I looked out the window and saw movement. I peered a little closer to see a large raccoon walking through the backyard, climb up a few of our bricks then turn and climb the tree into the backyard across from us. It is good to know we still have wildlife in the midst of this city life. We had a fabulous weekend, We began by playing doubles for a couple of hours with another couple in beautiful fall weather. We went to Steve's five year high school reunion. We got to see some friends we haven't seen for a while. It was a super small turnout for how large the class was but I think we saw a lot of the people Steve wanted to see. We went had pizza with some friends and hurried to get caramel apples at gateway. We are really enjoying fall. Saturday was General Conference and I really enjoyed the talk by Sister Allred about her missionary service. I kept thinking about Jessica and how coming home really makes you look back and realize what was really accomplished on the mission. That is personal spiritual growth, incredible experiences of seeing Heavenly Father's hand in so many lives, witnessing the growth and faith in others even if it is in small increments. Serving a mission is really an incredible experience. And there were really so many good talks. We missed Saturday afternoon because I got stuck in Costco and in a fabric store. I picked up some material to make a few skirts to keep me busy while Steve does homework so I don't bug him. We really enjoyed the visit from the Webb family as they came to attend conference. The boys went to Priesthood with Steve, walking to the church in the rain while mom and I walked to the grocery store to get drink mixes. Sunday was conference, a walk through the cemetery to visit the Greenes and the Bytheways. It is fun to have so much family near by. ;) We had a great dinner of pork chops, mashed potatoes from the farm, salad, beans, corn from the farm. It was a great dinner and we had Matt and Lara and the girls here along with Ashley and Soren (couple friends from the ward). It was a great weekend.
The week also turned out a pretty good for the both of us. Steve did really well on the tests he studied for all week. He also is progressing in his research. I am really proud of the work he is doing. I think he is a great student and does so well at being dedicated to his work. I am beginning more of the work that has been assigned to me at the school. I am over the cheerleaders and the student body officers who are doing a big pep rally at the end of the month. We are tying to calm down the drama in the cheerleaders and make their systems more organized. More work to do. It will work out fine though. I am also coaching Volleyball so we have tryouts in a few weeks. Then Steve and I are looking forward to our trip to San Fransisco for fall break. Things are going well for us and we hope they are doing the same for you. We love you all.
