Halloween! I was what I usually try to be for Halloween....absent! Well, not really. We had trick or treaters at work at the end of the day and then home to hand out more candy. Such a weird custom...handing out poison to all those little children! The Hunters came and we T-or-Ted Grandpa and Grandma over Skype. They both looked very good and it was good to see them!
Work... rumored layoffs didn't materialize this week but there's a board meeting on Tuesday so maybe Friday. Will be interesting to see what happens. Not sure which would be worse - getting laid off or having to clean up and take on more work load if I don't. One of the VPs came to me Friday and said I needed to come up with a new strategy for the company so hopefully I can get some time on that this week. Not sure there's a lot we can do at this point but it's still a field with lots of opportunity. Very sad to see all those little kids and young families that came by my desk trick or treating and to think that up to 1 in 3 will be facing the holidays without the security of a job. Well, if I get cut, me and Stuart are going to drive a Jeep to Costa Rica!
Saturday... got the yard ready for winter and cleaned up every leaf on the lawn. By this morning with the rain, it was completely covered again! The honey locust were so brilliant orange yesterday and beautiful and this morning, the lawn is all orange! Very pretty. Had a good bike ride up South Fork...thought that it might be the last ride of the season and it was very pleasant and warm. We'll see! Kelly was up form school so we all went for Sushi and it was sooo good. Well..Joe didn't really like the soup...something like it smells like dirty socks. Then to see the movie Moma Mia..... very, very strange! Had potential as a musical but who thinks up that stuff? and more interesting, who actually approves the money to have it produced?!?! I used to enjoy Abba back in the day but not after watching a buch of old ugly people recreating it! In 200 years, will that be what is considered classical at the Met Opera?
Love you all!
