Peter's Week

Another week...not much in the way of news.  My private blog on work has been pretty much the same...not having really positive or negative days and kind of in a holding pattern.  No layoffs this week but the rumor is Monday.  I'm headed to Atlanta for a couple of days for meetings with Cisco and Scientific Atlanta so hope I don't end up getting cut while I'm in the air on the way there!

So Wednesday, we went to the Conference Center to take part in filming for the New Year's program that is going to be distributed all over the church and part of a new website.  It was good but went on for quite some time and my boys were begging me to take them home early.  We had one boy that isn't a member that came but was in a car that got there a little late and they didn't get in (I guess they oversold tickets) so they just went home.  It reminded me of what President Hinckley said about one of the choir programs going on longer than a Korean fan dance.  We stopped at Five Guys burgers in Sandy and that really cheered them up.

I haven't had a chance to talk to many about the election but everyone I do comes out and asks me directly who I voted for.  It was a difficult decision and right up to the voting booth I kept waiting for inspiration but didn't get any.  I finally decided to vote for the candidate I had been thinking about the most and that was Obama.  I was very impressed with both McCain's concession speech and Obama's.  It will be interesting to see what the media does now.  I also just watched the Frontline on the dwindling success in Afghanistan and how so many more troops are needed to win the war against the Taliban and Al Quaida.

Well, that's it for now... hope eveyone has a really great week!
Love,
Peter
