Well, the axe fell this week at work. It missed me but there was blood and carnage everywhere. I have details in my private journal...some good and some bad so we'll see how it all turns out. I now have a new boss and at least am one level higher in the organization but the two people under me were let go. I won't say much other than that I wouldn't be surprised if we don't end up going through another cutback in a few months unless we have some changes at the top of the company. In the mean time, the new guy that I report to is one of the few that I really respect so I'm hopeful that his logical thinking (he's German) will help us get product delivered. I was in Atlanta when it all came down on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday I spent mostly talking to people affected--having been through several of these, I have experience that hopefully will be helpful to those that are going through it for the first time. Friday, I took a sick day and had one of those medical screenings done for people over fifty as recommended by my doctor. Thanks to Kelly for being there to pick me up after I got done...they wouldn't sedate me unless someone was there to pick me up and take me home. Fortunately, all is well and they said come back in 10 years.
The highlight of the week was Kayla's masquerade party. What a party!!! It was held at the old Hale Storm studio and was a dance party for like 30+ couples and cousins. Pretty fun.
